Aftermarket headunit w/out new dash fabrication
I went to hot import nights L.A. last night adn got a chance to see a couple of rx8's there. While I was looking inside of one 8, I saw that the car had an aftermarket head unit and still had the stock dash. I thought that an aftermarket head unit was not possible unless a new dash was fabricated. Can someone tell me how this was done?

i live in malaysia. that's my only option, cause i bought a JDM RX8 and the original head unit plays only AM/FM. since it comes only with AM/FM (which doesn't even work in Malaysia due to the difference in japanese frequency), i had to source for brand new HU. My alternative would be to put the HU in the glove compartment. then again, i would have to reach out for it each time i need to change CDs. so the cup holder would be my best option. in fact, the installer said that he's going to put the remote on my steering as well.

Sorry, I paid a bunch to have it custom built for my custom audio system. I'm sure you can show this to the shop you're going to & have them built a similar piece for you!

TRU, I e-mailed you about the car audio for the RX-8 and you never replied to me. I would love to check out your 8 sometime and hopefully get my 8 done by the same place you're getting yours at. Looks good!

TRU, I sent you an e-mail, it's from a comcast.net account now. I think the first one went to your spam because I sent it from my hotmail account. This one should work.
