ON 8" Bazooka Tube Install

Few questions about installing an 8 inch bazooka tube. They say to only run 16 guage power wire which seems pretty small. Even the power wire going into the harness is only 16 guage. Also there is no inline fuse supplied but going form bazookas site it should be a 10 amp fuse. Has anyone put an 8 onch bazooka in their car and know the answer?

The size of the wire needed depends on the amperage draw, and length of run. I would suggest running at least 8 awg wire that distance. If bazooka says it pulls less than 10 amps then I would believe them.

Believe it or not, 16awg is fine. In all actuality, that tube probably never peaks above 5-6 amps. You car uses 16awg on circuits fused with higher amperage fuses than that. I wouldn't stew over it too much.

Ya I was thinking along those lines. As well you can't run 8AWG into the harness so your limited by the 16AWG wire there anyways. Using the smaller wire def makes it easier to run the wire and I might try to tuck it as opposed tio pulling panels. Ill post when its done and let you know how it went in case your interested.

If you're really worried about it, you can buy 12 and 14awg wire in small spools at walmart or any auto parts store for a few bucks. No need to buy a whole wiring kit.
