I am having trouble trying to play mp3's in my rx8! I have tried multiple programs, on multiple computers, but nothing! Still won't work...
Anyone have suggestions?

I don't think the Mazda RX8 has a MP3 player function off of cds.
What you need is an Ipod connection. Check out this forum, there are several, which are better than the one offered by Mazda. Don't get the Mazda one. Look for "Displays track information on your display console". If the ipod connection can not display track info on your radio unit, it's rubbish.I magine having 20 playlists and 400 to 800 hundred songs. Would you prefer not to know where you are in your playlists? I think not.
I've got this setup, and like anyone else who does... IT ROCKS!! I hope you have success getting something like this installed, it's well worth it. You can even control your iPod through your steering wheel. How cool is that!?
PS: Ipod has build in EQ, so you can even pre-amp the music before it hits your stereo amp. (It's a cheap mans EQ) - also, if you build the MP3 player into your deck (Out of sight - not easy to find) When someone breaks into your car and rummages around for your Cell phone, radar detector and Ipod, they will at least not find your iPod.
Good Luck!

Are you sure you have the one with the MP3 cd player though? Anyway what you need to do is burn the MP3s to a CD-R in the root directory (without making folders) as a DATA CD.
If none of your programs work try a free program called ImgBurn and use the write files to disk function.

I am going to check the paperwork, I am pretty sure it said comes with MP3 Player! If it does, I will take it in to get it sorted!
Any suggestions on other ways to get the best out of your stereo? Ipod? XM Radio?

Just above the volume **** to the left it says "PUSH" and "POWER" all the way further to the left it will say MP3 if you have the MP3 unit, or 6 disc with a picture of 6 cd's if you have that unit. I don't know if the single CD player says anything there, I doubt it since it's already opposite the compact disc logo. There is no 6 disc MP3 unit. Here's what yours should look like (just the top half of course):

No, there is not. But you can purchase one of several (including OEM) units that plug into the external CD changer port (and one that plugs into the cassette/mini-disc deck port) on the stock head unit to allow you to hook up an iPod or MP3 player. Do a search for iPod and you'll see many threads.
