I am the recent owner of a 2004 rx8 and I love the car I'm just having some minor issues with it. Iv done a ton of research and haven't came across anyone with the same problem as mine with the cd player so hopefully someone here can help me. I have the bose 6 disc changer and recently about a week ago it starting not working properly for instance when I press a button down it won't detect it unless I hold it down for a few seconds. The steering wheel controls work perfect just not the cd player or ac controls unless I hold the button down for a few seconds. Songs will skip tracks when I do this and ac controls will still work, maybe I have a loose wire or something? Any input is greatly apprecciated.

Replace it with a new one. You might spend more money on finding or fixing the problem yourself, than buying a new one. Good luck.

Yea a new one would be a lot of money tho with no warranty. And it still works completely fine it just lags.. I'm gonna get it checked out soon just wanted to see if anyone had the same problem

I would get it replaced because thats how mine started out. At first it all worked great, then it started skipping tracks even when the CD was in perfect condition and just burned, then it started skipping more often, then one day i heard a click and now the CD function of the radio unit does not work at all, i cant change discs i cant take them out i cant listen them, it just completely stopped working. Now im stuck listening to the crappy radio :/

I've got the same problem: CD controls totally dead, but the radio and controls work fine, so I was curious if this means that I have to change the CD changer and or other parts and if there's a good place to find these parts online- thank you for your help/ recomendations
