I am 99% positive they will fit.

Cost is the issue. I think they are $1500+ per seat. A seat of Corbeaus, for both seats and rails, would be cheaper.

I'd be shocked if they weren't twice as much as that or more per seat.

Paul.

Yes they're very very nice, I'd look for a wrecked R3 in the coming months & try to get those seats at a better price. I'd hate to see the price Mazda is asking for them.

It seems there's no height adjustment on them. Is that correct?

I've called several dealerships here in Houston, and none of the ones I called were able to give me a price on the seats. They said that they could sell me all the parts for the seat and I could build me the R3 seats

Yeah, they said it's probably going to be around 2k per seat.....

Edit: I also asked them about the white/blue Mazdaspeed seats and they didn't know where to get those. This was couple of months back, so I don't know if anything has changed by now.

i called some dealerships around here and they don't even have pricing out yet. just give it a couple months and i'm sure you can get a complete seat from them.

Sorry, I checked & they're definitely not on that website. However, a few look similar that you may have mistaken them for. You're going to have a hard time finding a set of Recaros that were specially made for the R3 that include side air bags from an aftermarket parts vendor.

Well, I called around today and got the following (some rounding up was done, but not much):

- Seat back: $4,000
- Seat cushion: $2,000
- Adjuster: $630 if I recall correctly (by the time we got to this I had already passed out)

So, that's one seat assembly, approaching $7K. Just wow. My parts guy couldn't confirm or deny if the adjuster would mount up in my '05. He speculated it wouldn't, but I will withhold judgment until I see someone try it or have an opportunity to try it myself.

Ouch, I'm sure there are better prices available. The MSRP difference between a Sport model & R3 model is about $5k, yet Mazda's prices for the R3 wheels & seats are almost double that. Crazy...

You haven't figured out by now that the big money for manufacturers is in post sale customization components.
