VR Painted HID Headlights!
YeahYeah: Thanks for the feedback, i think everything you said was completely true, led was too short, color match is 99.999999%, and as for the resealing too soon, i prolly did, we will see how that affects them later.
Lurch: Thanks =D
Danomite: Fail? Can you explain that a little? lol

vndr09, those LEDs look sick as ****. Pics with the HIDs on?
As for the OP, I've seen this on other cars, your's just doesn't seem to appeal to me though. Maybe it's the red. Then again I've seen it on the white and I wasn't screaming for joy either.
Food for thought - many people would call it rice where I'm from. But a lot of people also don't know **** about cars. Meh whatever.

I always love reading threads like this...
So lets recap... you pulled your head lights off, (that were in perfect working order) put them in the oven, pulled them apart... painted them with VR from mazda I'm assuming, sealed them back up and added some LED strips to the wiring also...
I would say that takes some *****. As long as you like the look and it fits what you were going for.
I hate it when people think "input" is a invitation to say "I hate it and you should die" . Say, "I don't like it because of (insert reason here)" Reason shouldn't be "looks ricey; would look great on a civic; looks like a dog pooped in your headlights"
I had a guy comment one of my pictures saying my painted Vents just looked bad. I'm like, I didn't ask what you thought and much less, you have no reason as to why they look bad.
Anyway, I like the red background, reminds me of the new Corvette headlights or Ferrari, but that might just be because its red. I struggle to paint anything really well, so props for doing it yourself.

Not feeling the hood, painted bumper, windshield decal, headlights, painted door handle (wtf?), and hack saw badges. I think they look horrible to be honest.
I like the OEM fog lights though.

invest in bigger upgrades and ignore the silly, cheap ideas that float around in your head. The headlight painting is a good idea but it looks better on cars with different shaped headlights. Besides, more often than not, contrast looks more impressive with headlights(chrome, black chrome, black or maybe even flat silver).
Maybe the problem is your lenses, they look a bit cloudy and scratched up. Put some effort into fixing that...

you resealed them too soon, the inside fogged over with paint fumes before the 24 hours of being dry. Take them back off, open them back up and use the headlight kit...or just wet 400grit, then 600,800,1000,1500,2000, plastic restorer/rubbing compound in that order. That will clear them up. Drying paint inside a sealed plastic housing never works until the paint has been allowed to completely cure.
Well, the paint was completely cured because the right headlight lense is crystal clear, the left one is cloudy because i had some sticky residue from the blackout tint i had on the headlights, when i removed them i had my wife do it (stupid) and she used alchohol and steel wool, OUCH. Then i used the autozone restore kit and it helped it out emmensely, still a tad bit cloudy tho, and i have no idea where to get plastic restorer/rubbing compound. =[
