how hard was it to bake open those lights anyways? I'm way to chicken to open mine up.

Looking forward to finished pictures. This is one of the few original things left to be modded on this car.

Did you bake it with the HID ballast and bulbs still in the headlight?

Its really not hard at all actually, dont be chicken. Just remove ALL bulbs, set oven at 220, put em in there for 8 minutes, remove them and pry around the edges where the sealant is. Put them back in for another 5-7 minutes and finish prying them apart. Paint should be here soon, ill post pics as soon as i paint them. Any questions feel free to ask.

bulbs and ballast are easy, there are two clips underneath a white plastic cover that you have to pinch together, and then just like the rest of the bulbs, you just twist and pull em out.
WANT TO THANK SHAKE YOUR BRAKES FOR THE IDEA AND THE DIY STEP BY STEP!

I'm def too scared to try this without a back-up set of lights...even then...yikes.

I'm telling you, guys, this is a VERY easy procedure, if anyone wants, i can post some pics of ALL the parts and bulbs that were removed from the headlight prior to baking it. That way if you DO decide to do this, you will know if you got all the bulbs and such. And if you have ANY questions or concerns, pleace fell free to ask me. Id like to see some more people do this with different color 8s.

Need some input, should i paint all the silver parts black? Or leave them silver?

To each his own I guess. Props for being original but I think it looks bad but its not the worst thing on your car.

Nova, didn't you just get the paint today? Shouldn't you have not sealed the headlights back up for at least a day or two so the paint has had proper time to cure?

Are those LED strips from VLEDs?

I don't know. I think the headlights are fine the way they are. To be honest, it looks ricey.
