Vinyl wrap?!

So, i got a velocity red rx8 =] and i been thinkin on how to paint or do my engine bay! paintin the covers! now i can just sand it and paint it or have it paint at a shop! but i just thought of using some vinyl wrap! its cheaper than takin it to a shop to get it painted! wat you guys thinik?! any suggestions?! i was thinkin of usin the colors gold, red and black! idk! lol

yeah i was thinkin of paintin it just because idk how well the vinyl wrap will work!
just gotta figure out wat scheme or layout! idk need to get some ideas!
wats some good paint for this? and would i need to do that acrylic/clear coat too?!

any heat resistant paint will do. g2 brake caliper paint is a good choice

vinyl wrap would probably start to melt and shrivel, especially inside the engine bay... you can vinyl wrap the outside of your car tho.

Oh yeah, any kind of vinyl would melt like a champ in the engine bay. Paint is where it's at.

yeah i just figured that some of that carbon fiber lookin vinyl looked cool! but yeah i guess ill paint! lol i think i have some caliper paint left! i just gotta make sure i sanded good cause last time i tried the paint didnt stick at all!

Vinyl is more resilliant than you may think,,, The fuse/battery/ECU boxes get hot but not that hot,,, there are a few people with vinyl wrap on those items,,,
Ive put vinyl on far hotter items, the hotter it gets the better it sticks,,,

But if your able to find paint in the correct color that you would like just go for that,,,

vinyl would deffently holdum but i would suggest paint over it in this situation

i really wanna do the vinyl! it jsut looks cool! lol but yeah i figure about the heat so idk!
i order a small piece and imma try it see how it works! if it hold up good than imma do the engine cover!
idk if i wanna do the other boxes! hmmmm idk
