FL Upgrading HID Ballasts And Bulbs To 50/55Watt

I have an 04 rx8 GT. I want to get the brighter HID bulbs and use those for my stock Headlights. I know that you cannot just get a 55watt bulb and expect it to work. My question is this, The digital ballast I am looking at is pretty small. Is it possible to just take the stock ballast out of its holder and replace it with this new 55watt ballast if it fits and hook up the new 55watt bulb and wala? Or is it not that easy? I diddnt have any problems turning my fog lights to HID With the kit. Also, I have no clue in hell how to get to the ballast in my headlight assembly. All advice will be greatly apreciated. Im pretty experienced with most things in and out of my 8. Im just a Stock Look Lover and dont want any physical visible mods done to my car. I have over 167 add on's to this car, including laser jammers, and a camera immune lisence plate for red light cams and such. Everything looks like it came with the car.
