Excellent on the holes being welded, you wont have trouble out of those. But, whoooah....they arent laying carbon over fiberglass for durability. Thats far from it, they are heavier and weaker, and........CHEAPER BY FAR. How many factory race cars use fiberglass parts with a cosmetic carbon cover? How many OEM manufactures paint over carbon fiber? Try porsche, mercedes, ferrari, and bugatti to name a few....and trust me, they aint "bumpy or wavy". I think you made the right choice, and I honestly dont care if anyone takes my advise or not. The amount of misinformation on this forum in general in unreal, but mixed in there is some helpful info. But when people start a flame war, no one seems to get any info.....

your talking about racing applications and oem manufacturers while im talking about mass produced cf parts from replicators.....there is a huge difference...very rarely will you find a mass produced part that is paintable and will almost always be wavy....thats just how it is...to the untrained eye the gel coated cf will be un-noticeable and straight but once you look at it like some of us sticklers would you will see all the imperfection...i try my best not to give mis-information but when it comes to kits, cf and the likes trust me i am very knowledgeable

we are all pretty knowledgable as far as starting flame wars I believe it was you that started out by throwing A-hole around which was really uncalled for...
As for Manufacturers and race applications those CF parts are what is known as 'dry carbon' which the proccess requires an autoclave and yes they are bumpy again like I said before race cars leap frog this by using vinyl instead of paint and as for manufacturers if its a structural part of the frame as the case inthe Carrera GT if you were to take the 'wet carbon' panels off you would be able to run your fingers on the almost scaly texture of the dry carbon. In the case of painted body panels 'wet carbon' is used which is first pre-pregnated with a gel coat and does not require the use of an autoclave unless there are radius' that are smaller than 3/8". This wet carbon proccess is what is commonly used in massed produced aftermarket parts as for OEM body panels the difference in the smoothness come form the factory using a technique known as vaccumm bagging where there is still a need for a 0 pressurized environment. and by being a part that come from a huge manu like GM with the fenders of the new Z06 the time is put into making the mold perfect so hardly no time needs to be taken in the later finishing and paint prepping stages... whoo me fingers hurt...

Wow this thread started off fine.
I just received my VIS Razor CF hood, VIS CF trunk, and a GT Competition CF front bumper. The bumper is a Carbon Creations product. I have to say from looking at them the VIS is a better product. Now before anybody jumps all over me for that, I will say this. I have zero knowlege when it comes to CF so I'm just making a observation. Like I said I just took them out of the box so I don't know about the fit and wont know untill mid to late sept. The reason for this is because I want to do all the other work before body work. Not to mention my Kenstyle rear and Mint Blue sides skirts wont be shipped untill mid/late Aug

Because i like the look of the bumper. If it's **** I would sugest a section on this form for "**** VENDORS & PRODUCTS". I know this is a little off topic but where can i find a 3 gauge pod FOR 60MM gauges?

there is a section called good guy/bad guy and several threads on why not to buy thier products....as for a 60mm pos your looking at expensive japanese parts....all the big boys have them from mazdaspeed to RE-A
