Question Side trim falling off!

Hey all. I have a piece of side trim falling off on my car and have ZERO experience with body trim. Any advice on the best methods to reattach this would be very appreciated!

Is this the aero package side from Mazda? What I would do it remove the black plastic from the bottom, remove the bolt and pull it off. It should have some holes in the side of the body where it goes in. Remove all the double sides tape, and clean up with some alcohol. Then apply new 3M automotive double sided tape to the part that is falling off. Let it sit atleast an hour. Peel the other side of it and put the part back on the car. Have a friend hold it in place firmly while you put the plastic clips and bolt in. Should be good as new.

I tried a bottle of 3M trim repair glue and it almost seemed to make it worse...I didnt want to try superglue because it dont want to use anything that will hurt the paint and idk how superglue would react.
