Wow, that is a lot of lift!
With the single 180 lb strut, does the door require a lot to lift it up?
Does it fall down on its own or come down fast as soon as any downward pressure is applied?

Your aftermarket speakers would have to weigh 60 or more pounds each before you will need more than a total of 180 pounds of lift!
When I tried the two included 150 pound struts in my installation, I could hang off of the open door and not close it!

Try just getting rid of the single 150 and go to two 85 or 90 pound lifts.
If that is not enough, you can up one strut 30 pounds or so.

265 pounds of lift??!! The stock door weights around 80-lbs, so your speakers must be freaking huge.

I still think it's overkill. Try two 90 pounders to bring the weight down.

Link didn't work for me, but I'm not a fan of lambo doors anyways. I think that they belong on lambos and lambos only, and I personally would feel like a fool driving with lambo doors on a stock RX8 and pulling into school or a parking lot.

But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Most people who buy vertical door kits don't have stock cars.

Yeah, I agree on the right car they can work. But i plan to keep my car relatively close to stock, and it wouldn't work for me.

The car from one point goes up itself..But still when the air is lot i c the door going right and left when its 90degrees..But its not going down itself...Well i might just use 2 110lb per door to test...Sometimes i wish i was living in Us...

To each their own. My cars not stock at all and I personally think it looks pretty badass.

There's also a lot of other cars out there to have sissor or vertical doors, besides Lamborghini's. Like Bugatti's, some Ferrari's (more semi-gullwing tho), Koignsegg's, and other exotics.

I have a 90degree kit on mine... and It's a hunk of junk. It sucks because I can't tell you who made the kit, but I can say I wish it was by GT Factory or by LSD Solutions.

My kit is welded to the door, and it totally WRECKS my fenders. I love the thought of the lambo, and truthfully... I'm liking the LSD kit because it's wider. It opens up and it opens the normal out. Thus, many were asking why this kit is so expensive, it's because it's a Bi-Hinge. It goes both ways ;-)

I want this kit... but I think I'm reverting back to stock for now. Buying new Fenders, getting it all set-up and grabbing a turbo, then sound, then I'll go back to lambo's.

I also found the Automated system, With the push of a button, the door pops open and lifts up. It's what I want. So if I'm able to combine that with LSD's kit... I'll be set.

I also have to leave Hawaii before I can shave my handles :-( It's illegal here.

-- Also... How do these kits that all of you have open?

Mine, you have to open it out so far, (About 1/3 of the way out...) And then Lift up. And from the inside, this can be the BIGGEST hassle ever.

So, I'm curious if anyone has a true lambo kit. And what I mean by this is, you would of have to modify the latch, and latch hosing. Put the Latch vertical, and put a latching hosing on the bottom/ lower corner of your door.

With the GT kit you open the door out first, then up as well. How far the door goes out is up to how much adjustment you make on the set screw. Everything on the GT kit is adjustable- how high the doors go up, how far you have to open the door "normal style", etc. I currently have mine set so I only have to open it out about 5 inches, then it goes vertical.

I don't think it would be possible to have a "true" vertical door kit on the 8 because the door shape, let alone modifing the hinge and latch. The bottom rear corner of the door is nearly a 90-angle- if it was to go straight up, it would bang into the rear door. You would have to modify the drivers door by cutting the back part on a slant and welding the remains to the frame, so the door will clear the rear doors when going straight up.

Who installed your kit? You need to cut away some of the support brackets in the fenders to clear the hinge, and notch a small section off the hinge itself. Plus, yuo might have to grind off some of the lower materail on the fender fender to clear the struts (all this if you're using the GT Factory kit). If you don't do this then the hinge will bang into your fenders and push it out. Also, the hinge itself needs to sit deep in the fender panel, in a "box".

the nice thing about the gt factory kit is that the door also comes "in" as well as "up" when you lift the door. It gets the look of the door to be a more "authentic" lambo look. It also helps in keeping the door from wobbling too much.

The reason why I didn't like alot of the other kits on the market such as LSD is because when the door goes "up" it rotates forward leaving the doors to create a V shape from the front with the doors flopped to the side. The GT Factory kit puts the doors straight up from the front which IMO makes it look a whole lot better.

the first pic is my car to show how the GT Factory kit looks like from the front.

The second pic is from LSD's website...its not straight forward but you can see the difference.

there's no "kit" so it would have to be custom.

You would need at least three actuators; one to pop the hinge, one to push the door out, then another to push it up. The problem is the whole process, from the time you push the button, would take at least 45 seconds or more, which would suck, and in an emergency situation be completely unsafe.

You could replace the two oil-filled struts with a linear actuator to push the door up, but then you still need a small actuator to push the door open, and I have no idea where you would mount that- there just isn't the room. Then you need a hinge popper solnoid, akin to those people use on shaved door handle kits.

And of course if your battery dies or you have an electrical problem, you can't get in your car.

I guess I should throw a pic or two of mine in the mix.
GT Factory weld-in kit. Did it myself about three years ago or so:

hey.

I have a vertical door industries kit. I got it professionally installed so I cant be much help on guiding you through it. I realize that it's too late for this, but I do not recommend this mod. In fact I would recommend that you return this kit and use the money for something else.
