Yes, they did, I can't tell the difference. The weather has been so bad lately that I don't know when I'm going to get the chance wax/protect the paint.

Well, thanks and I obviously tend to agree. You won't be seeing grossly disproportionate wings or the like on my car. And I definitely disagree with lightemup on the rice thing all together. I tend to tread the refined euro look for my car and the grille adds distinction without going over the top. About color choice, check out the billet grille link below in my sig, MazdaBob did this on his green 8 which I saw in person, it looked awesome on his car. That's what made me want to do it to mine.

All I can say is if you don't like it, you would think it looks all right in person. And if you like the picture you would think it looks awesome in person, much like the RX-8 itself. I've read some of your recent post history and you seem to carry the same tone, you've tried to make your point multiple times already. So far you are 1 in 17 or so that don't like it, okay. Please don't derail this thread with multiple posts saying the same thing, thanks.

I was just being honest, I don't care if I was 1 in 300, it's really ugly IMHO.

I'm not trying to hijack the thread, all I did was reply when I was spoken to. Everytime someone refers to my post in this thread, I will dignify it with a response, it's proper internet etiquette.

I was thinking about this mod on the way to work this morning for my own Titanium car, when it dawned on me... it violates my State's vehicle code (unless I put the front plate over it - which would make a point, but be stupid).

Before people start screaming about how the front-plate laws are bad or that they don't get enforced, realize I'm just pointing it out as something that should be considered before one rushes off to buy the trim. By all means, make up your own mind about the front plates. As for me, I've gotten "warning tickets" when parked at the municipal lot from which I commute when my car was without front plates, so there are people who just don't have the option.

As for being rice... not even close. Certainly a question of taste, but not rice. As I understand the term, rice has to convey that the car has something it doesn't have. Personally, I think Mazda could have charged $400 for it and made money.

Lastly, I think debaging the RX-8 is great fun. I've seen a grand total of two other RX-8s on the road here in Illinois since September. I bet they are not so scarce or unrecognized in car-crazy California, but the "What is that?" or the "There's goes that car again!" factor here would be tremendous.

Wow, the debadge looks TIGHT. I'm sorta torn on the grill though. Looks too "rich" for my taste.. but to each his own eh?

Man you are ONE with your camera.. still using that S40?

I dunno how you do it.. making your shots come out all crisp and pretty like that.. at night even!! What's the secret!!!!

Looks great! Great pictures, as usual! Now all you need is a Mazda emblem above the grille ... (kidding).

For $400 I don't think I would buy, but it's certainly worth $10 in material! :D

I use a Canon S40 but it's no longer in production, the S45 and S400 are it's relative replacements, goto www.powershot.com for more info. I take pics at 4 megapixal resolution and then shrink to fit afterward.

Voodoo, you always take some awesome pictures. Some of the best on the forum. The grille looks great but I don't know if i like the emblem in there.

At the risk of sounding stupid and being flamed for not reading the whole thread, is the grill a PS or did you actaully do that? If so how and at what cost. (Just the grill... not eh debadging)

now that i've had time for the style to sink in, i think it makes it look a lot more luxurious and little less sporty, much like the G35 (still i think what you've done looks even better than the billet grille on the G35):

great effect...i still wish there was something to be done about the plastic mesh underneath

Go to my sig below and click on the underlined word, "Billet Grille", should give you the answers you need. It is not a photoshop.

I have been driving around without front or back since I've received the car. At some point I will have to put on the back but will try to hold out as long as possible on the front.

Thanks for the compliment sup3rbad.

Looks EXCELLENT. Now you just need to do something matching in the oil cooler openings...
