I don't think they called it that back in the 50's....VooDoo, the grille treatment with inclusion of the logo is sharp!

I'm not trying to hijack the thread, all I did was reply when I was spoken to. Everytime someone refers to my post in this thread, I will dignify it with a response, it's proper internet etiquette.

I was thinking about this mod on the way to work this morning for my own Titanium car, when it dawned on me... it violates my State's vehicle code (unless I put the front plate over it - which would make a point, but be stupid).
Before people start screaming about how the front-plate laws are bad or that they don't get enforced, realize I'm just pointing it out as something that should be considered before one rushes off to buy the trim. By all means, make up your own mind about the front plates. As for me, I've gotten "warning tickets" when parked at the municipal lot from which I commute when my car was without front plates, so there are people who just don't have the option.
As for being rice... not even close. Certainly a question of taste, but not rice. As I understand the term, rice has to convey that the car has something it doesn't have. Personally, I think Mazda could have charged $400 for it and made money.
Lastly, I think debaging the RX-8 is great fun. I've seen a grand total of two other RX-8s on the road here in Illinois since September. I bet they are not so scarce or unrecognized in car-crazy California, but the "What is that?" or the "There's goes that car again!" factor here would be tremendous.

Wow, the debadge looks TIGHT. I'm sorta torn on the grill though. Looks too "rich" for my taste.. but to each his own eh?
Man you are ONE with your camera.. still using that S40?
I dunno how you do it.. making your shots come out all crisp and pretty like that.. at night even!! What's the secret!!!!

Voodoo, you always take some awesome pictures. Some of the best on the forum. The grille looks great but I don't know if i like the emblem in there.

At the risk of sounding stupid and being flamed for not reading the whole thread, is the grill a PS or did you actaully do that? If so how and at what cost. (Just the grill... not eh debadging)

now that i've had time for the style to sink in, i think it makes it look a lot more luxurious and little less sporty, much like the G35 (still i think what you've done looks even better than the billet grille on the G35):
great effect...i still wish there was something to be done about the plastic mesh underneath

WOW! BrotherVoodoo be proud of your ride man! Very proud. The debadging works well with this car. Darn! Another idea that I didn't come up with! One day when we all meet up, it will be interesting to count the number of (nearly) identical modifications we have all done! Again, great job!
