Thanks for the kind words. It's pretty hard to do something that hasn't been done before.

I'll try to find my digital camera and take some better pictures. One thing that you can't tell is I couldn't completely cover up the last hole on the right with the "S". It's hardly noticeable and I covered what little was opening with gray 3M tape from the other side. This will hopefully keep moisture out of the trunk. There is also a little hole for drainage on the other side should water get in. Not a perfect situation, but it doesn't really bother me.

Can imagine how many people will ask when the Renesis came out. We haven't heard of it yet. It looks like the RX-8 though. What is different?....

Looks good bruce_van.

billet renesis badge

Would anyone be interested in a "RENESIS" billet badge ?
If so, PM me with design and specifications ie. length and height and I will approach billetbadges.com to see the cost. I have had his product in the past on my diesel trucks and they are top notch

I think the billet badge would be the way to go. Those holes were freakin' big. I was thinking a badge with the letters done in red or black would look smokin'. I did some
research but gave up because I figure it would cost over $100 if I were to do a one off.

I'm pretty sure if someone took the initiative and made 50, they would probably sell
easily. The MAZDA badge is such an eyesore.

It's a nice start, but I think the typeface stinks. I think someone needs to take the "RENESIS" from the engine cover and find that font.

The size of the badge needs to be big enough to cover those three big holes. Fortunately, I have the exact size if you need it.

Here's the picture without jumping to snapfish.

The design I posted is a copy of the engine cover in AuroCAD and it covers all the holes. It was installed on my car before I debadged it completely.

If everyone comes up with a design that we can all agree with, I can forward it to the mfg and see about getting it done.

So I contacted Billet Badges and sent them the other renesis badge request and here's their quote on price; group buy anyone ?
Dan,
I can do that for you. Do you have a vector line format like Adobe Illustrator of the logo that I can use? Do you know the quantities that you will need. Will you need the text painted or unpainted? The starting price is $35 each for polished badges with unpainted text and an additional $15 per badge for painted text.
For quantities of 10-20 I offer 10% off.
For quantities of 21-35 I offer 15% off
For quantities of 36-50 I offer 20% off

Comments ?

That's not a bad price for custom billet piece. I think having it painted in red or black is the way to go. I really love the look of this sample they have on their web site. How about having the rotary logo/symbol and then the RENESIS.

Now just put the RX-8 in the center of the rotor and everything is covered.

I actually took the RX-8 out of the center of the rotor because it would be too small. Creative decision I suppose. I can easily put it back in if people think it would look better.
