We shall see when I get it... before I cut the quarter panel I will attempt to pull it out first to see if this works

Well its not that easy to see because the width is not crazy wider than the oem, but if you really examine it and carefully compare it to the oem fender then you will see it. It took me a while to actually agree that it is actually wider than oem... lol

yeah 10mm is a half inch difference, if you can see that from 20ft you have eagle eyes...

Lol, over fenders without cutting the actual fender would be absolutely pointless. Not only would it defeat the purpose entirely and not allow any wider a setup, but it would make the wheels appear more sunk in than they truly are.

Thanks rotor8 for clarifying +10mm, its much appreciated!

Japanparts, any update on potential group buy status? I wish these had been +20mm

I don't know, it does look like it bubbles out a bit more, but the effect could likely be due to the shadowing.

Thanks for clarifying! 10mm is not much of a difference on the fenders, but it makes a fat *** difference on the wheels! damn I just cant wait until I get these... I guess my rims are going to be for sale soon

yeah with a 10mm difference, you can go a half in wider each side and maybe bump up 10-20 series in your tire selection

They look so awkward with a conservative set of wheels.

Im still not a fan of the "over fender" I mean its pretty damn easy to tell its just slapped on over the OEM fender. Maybe it would look better in black?

The rear flares need more shape and would look better if they were molded to the body.

+1; but after spending all that money and waiting for the shipment the last thing you want to do is spend more money and wait longer

I just realized they are 1 piece which would suck if and when the bumper had to be removed. These would require a lot of work for me to like them on my car.

I agree. Doubtful these would be worth the time and effort for the look I want.

Seriously, and what tilt suggested to roll / pull the OEM's would give you the same clearance

I'd like to see the rear quarters a little more rounded and flowing. The 8 can look long and straight from certain angles and some smooth curves could really help it.

So, anyone know when that JPY conversion is going to get any better? I've been waiting....

After shaving the lips on these to be 1-2mm thin, I'd imagine you can fit more inside than on a pulled out/flared fender. Well at least, I hope - How ironic would it be if I got wide fenders and actually had less clearance?

I have a question for all those looking for wider fender kits/rolling etc...

Ive contemplated making my own kits(all 4 corners) and the only problem that I come up with is the issue of fender liners, I want a clean as possible conversion, I dont want a wheel well without some kind of liner. Ive thought about making a spacer/adapter that connects to the oe liner and bumps outward from that to connect to the rim of the fender, but dont want any sag that might interfere with the tire...

It would be about 1" wider in the fr and 1.5" in the back per side,,,

I have the design all thought out except for this one small hurdle, any thoughts,,,,

Maybe you can use a piece of plastic which is like the fender liner material and connect it to the existing fender liner holes and extend it out to the wider fender kits. Dont know if I am making any sense though lol...

The shine auto fc rx7 rear wide fenders are integrated to be used with OEM fender liners, I don't remember exactly how though.

Interesting, your work is always awesome rotr8

yeah I thought about that in the begining but the only thing I forsee with that is sag, especially since its only held together with clips...

Thanks, the only thing I can come up with is to make a whole new set of liners that would fit the wider fenders,,, and then coat it is sound gaurd coating, of course this would drive the cost skyward, but it would be worth it to me, maybe not to reproduce,,,,

IMHO many people interested wouldn't need nor want the liners. Awesome you're even considering this!
