Not the wright side of the hid but the right fit for the rx8. Every car has a different model. I'm just trying to find a link to buy rx8 hid lights.

O ok! Good luck.

Indeed. I'm going to do that eventually with mine, red bottom/sides, rings will be black with red oracle halo lights.

I've had my headlights painted for over a year now. High gloss black housing and reflectors (you can even see the projector reflection!), color matched rings, and color matched eyelids (on the inside). IMO, I hate the stock rx8 headlights and there a no companies that make aftermarket headlights for under a grand ie: cincity designs. So this was a GREAT option.

So, what happens when you want to use your highbeams?

I was talking to a guy who said he did this with a different car's headlights, he said it's possible to melt the plastic if you're not careful, is that a risk with these headlights at 220 degrees? If so, how do you avoid it?

You don't haha. My bright HID low beams some-what compensate. "off-road" use only

Very nice, that's what mine's going to look like with red halos. All gloss black interior.

Anywho, I split the 2 headlights apart earlier this week, that was NOT easy! It was a HUGE PITA, even at 220 degrees that silicone flat out refuses to come off, but with a lot of elbow grease and a big flat head screwdriver or two it can be done.

As for how "dangerous" it is to the headlights, when I put them in for 7-8 minutes I had them on a cookie sheet with tin foil on top, but when I put them in for a minute or two to reheat them, I just popped them straight in, the plastic is hard enough that even at that temperature the only way to damage is it to scratch it or pry too hard on it. I would suggest however to make sure it's in the center of the oven, not too close to the heating elements for obvious reasons.

I installed my new AEM intake while I had the front bumper off, I'm planning on putting everything back together next weekend including 6k HIDs low beams, 6k LED high beams, 6k led parking lights and red LED blinkers if I remember correctly. Wanted to do everything at the same time for obvious reasons.

Body shop charged me $60 bucks for this and a subwoofer grill. Well well worth it IMO, they look fantabulous.
