Maybe thats the issue here, he repaints poorly and if there's a clear coat there's not enough or of poor quality. I notice the shine has really dulled on mine after having re-taped-reinstalled them 3 times now (fitment) and using alcohol to clean them each time.

I'm repainting next spring as the color is not a prefect match anyway.

Has anyone had fitment issues? I just bought the front air dam, side flares, and rear flares in BB for 324 US. In Canada, it would cost from the dealer around 1200 US before tax. I'm planning on just having them painted anyways to make sure they will last.

I've had two sets of side flares from AZPARTSEXPRESS on my TiGrey. I also have the front dam and the rear splash guards from him. In my experience, ONLY the side flares have chipping problems, but it has happened to both sets. The first set started chipping after a few months, so I contacted him and asked him to replace the set. Once again, the second set started chipping a few months after being installed.

I'm pretty sure he paints these at his shop and does a very poor job. When the parts arrive they will likely look very good. You won't know you have a problem with his quality until they've been installed for a few months and begin to chip. I would not recommend buying side flares from him.

I went down to AZPartsExpress yesterday, I live in the Phoenix area and went down to check it out.

The parts I ,came home with were in the Mazda boxes. I would say any paint color or wear issues I might have in the future are Mazdas (or mine if my paint has faded - I have a 5 year old 2005).

I was invited into the warehouse, and geeze there were a lot of Mazda boxes in there. They had no problem finding stock for my Ti.

And I am not a shill, just trying to get my story out there. If I have problems, I will post them up.

The biggest problem to date was the air dam instructions telling me to drill six holes into my bumper. That gave me some second thoughts.

After hearing your stories I will look into some clear bra material for the lower body pieces. Mazda protected the lower body of most the car the same way.

Dont' worry about putting the 6 holes in the bottom of the bumper. When you get the bumper off, you will find 6 crosshairs on the backside. Drill holes through the centers and you're done.

FYI I mounted front mud guards late March 2009 and they are starting to chip. The yellow is clearly visible.

I just got my front air dam, side and rear aero flares a week and a half ago. Took over month to finally get them.
I've read every post in this thread as I was concerned about yellow paint underneath the red.
I've scratched the backsides of all the parts I have and there is no yellow there. They look very good to me, any thoughts?

He has an auction on eBay for a front air dam for 199.99 + 45 shipping....or best offer. I was thinking 149. Is that reasonable?

Hey guys, ive been looking for an apperance package for my brilliant black. I contacted him and he said he has no more bb stuff and he said he wont get any more. But he said he had a kit in gray. Now, ive been skimming through this thread and i know he tends to repaint some of his stuff. But my question is, how hard is it to match the brilliant black paint if i were to buy the gray ones and re paint them ? I never liked the idea of repainting over stuff cause deep down inside i know its a different colour but i guess thats the only way ill get the appearance package. And does anyone know how much it would cost for to repaint the air dam, front mud guards, side flares, and rear flares ? I already have the wing

Thankss

Just sand em down if you don't want a diff colored paint under. I'm thinking you'd pay about $400 to paint match them properly.. Paint ain't cheap.

Well that's my guess.. but by all means I might be way off. Painting items that are small such as eyelids though can cost 100-150 though.. prices will vary.

I have a used BB set that needs to be painted. Front mud guards, side and rear aero flares. No idea what I would sell it for though but let me know if you are interested.

Pdxhak, sorry man I'm looking to buy brand new. I'm in toronto anyways and it probably end up costing the same after shipping costs.

Just my 2 cent about something. He said he was out of bb stuff and that he wouldn't get anymore. If he in fact re painted his stuff, he wouldn't have said that and wouldve told me that he has bb stuff in stock and gone and repainted the gray kit to black. So I guess he doesn't re paint them afterall. The mazda dealer probably is the one who repaints the parts. This has been discussed but just my 2 cents
