I've got other small modifications in mind that made me completely forget about picking up a front air-dam for spring. I'm some glad I happened to come across this here thread with everyone's feedback on the quality of the product being sold.

I'll definitely be holding off on that now.

Yep, got my replacement set today. Same thing as Aipex. Yellow under the black but black under the yellow... so I just installed them anyway. They look pretty good, we'll see in a few weeks

I sent him a message through eBay which may not be the best way. Lets see if he responds. If anyone has his direct email address then you should send him a message as well.

lison to this guys!!!!!!! when i made a best offer with azpartsexpress, he didnt want me to pay with paypal, he wanted me to pay over the phone, i was like theres no way i will do that, i tryed to pay from ebay but it didnt let me, so i waited a few days and he keeps sending me emails to call him, i told him i only work thru paypal, so i ask for his email to send money thru paypal, so i sent it and he said you send it to a bad email with paypal, i was getting all red and pissed, so i told him why would you give me a email that didnt even work with paypal, so after a week later hes like i got your payment, it was the front Air Dam in winning blue, yeah it looks good, i can see a few spots that was not perfect, so its ok, i installed it, it seems OEM, but i dont think he wanted a paper trail with this order, thats what it seems like to me

My email to him

Here is a direct link to he thread.

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=130941

Also there is some posted pictures starting on page 3. The thread started in 2007 but starting on post 18 the information is current. Lots of concerns from members. My self included and I have yet to install the mud guards due to concerns with the paint chipping.

Hope you to see you join the thread to address our concerns

I cut into the old flare and there is black plastic beneath the yellow, so it's not yellow plastic. Yellow primer? I don't know.
Any update? I know it has only been a few days but there is lots of crap on the roads now. Also where did you get your 3M?

So far, so good. There's about 1/8" gap between where the 3M stops and the flare meets the car. I can see that a couple of rocks have hit in that area, but no yellow. I got the 3M done by some tint shop in vancouver called Solar Eclipse, they are just down the road from me. It's a so-so job, I wish they would have taken the 3M right to the edge of the flare.

I actually didn't drill the holes in the side of my car to install these, just the one in the wheel well. I just put a big square of 3M tape on each of the tabs where those clips go. If these turn out yellow, I'll just go back to the no flare look.

well i got front mudflaps and they looked fine, just a bit of sticky resin and its not coming off with anything and when i scratched it, it was black under the red paint. so it looks promising. just have to wait for the front air dam, side flares and rear flares now.

I do not have any experience working with paint so bear with me

Thoughts of doing a light sand and adding a few layers of clear? Or is this not worth it if the initial paint and prep was a poor job?

as long as you wet sand with a really high grit of sandpaper it would help protect from the paint chipping away, maybe even fading issues. But if there are problems such as discoloration or imperfections in the paint I cant say that it would actually help
