I'm glad you went with the MS kit. Much better than the "half-***" appearance pkg. By far the sweetest looking 8 out there. Any plans for tinting it, especially living in FL.

adrian-1: Thanks for the kudos; not a big fan of tints however...

tips for the sideskirts:

1. make sure you place the templates in the correct order. i mixed mine up (was on percocet during install) and now i have two extra holes in my frame.

2. get some gorilla glue

3. for me, the 3mm pilot holes weren't necessary...although i'd punch the frame real good so that the drill bit doesn't travel.

4. you'll also need good jackstands because the drill won't fit under the frame.

if you need any other questions answered, send me a pm and i'll give you my cell phone number. don't be worried flip, on a rating of 1 (easy) - 10 (hard).

Front bumper: 1.
Side Skirts: 4.
Rear Diffuser: 3

Holy crap...are you going off-roading in your 8 or something?

I know part of it is an optical illusion, being a black car and all...but even so, that is some kind of freaky big gap.

Gap is stock. If you have an RX-8, you have the same wheel gap as mine. Although, the wheel gap is pretty big to begin with, I doubt I'm going to lower my car.

Are you planning to keep it wing free?

I really like the MS kit without the wing, looks classier IMHO

The MS kit was aerodynamically designed to use the wing for high speed stability and to balance out the kit visually by their lead designer... It is a matter of taste for the looks, but as far as functionality goes, if you’re not going to use the car for the intended purpose than why put ground affects on...

The car looks good stock with no wing, once you go with the factory aero package it starts calling out for one, with the MS kit it really needs it; looks very unbalanced without…

With the MS kit and no wing keep your speeds down, remember the Audi TT...

And that car needs to be dropped at least an inch, way to high and to much gap with that kit on (Looks half way done)...

I'd like a lip spoiler, but i'm not paying a grand for one. I'll wait until a cheap imitation comes out. Not to mention the fact that I think the MS wing looks like poop.

cortc: As for functionality, I'm not taking this thing to the track anytime soon. Nor would I desperately need the wing for dori. And when you say "used for its intended purpose", isn't that a matter of opinion? In mine, this car is no way meant for drag racing. This car was made for dori, plain and simple. Light(ish) weight, 50/50 weight distribution, and RWD...what else could it be for?

For me, it was a matter of taste. I didn't like the way the RX-8 looked stock, and had already planned and budgeted money to add the MS kit with it. That's a relatively old picture, as I have added my clear corners already. Next is going to be the fender strakes and some stealth bulbs.

[No majors engine mods until 1) a turbo comes out 2) warranty runs out, whichever comes first]

Hey Arcane, whatever happened to an English translation? Did I miss it simewhere?

MazdaSpeed RX-8 Body Kit Install Instructions
Below are scanned images from the MazdaSpeed RX-8 body kit install instructions. Unfortunately (for non-japanese readers) they aren't translated. Yet. Takeo has graciously offered to translate them and as he does I'll be able to post translated PDF documents for general use. Until then this page serves as a place holder for what I currently have. Please save the image to your local computer in order to minimize my bandwidth useage. If you have any questions, corrections or suggestions, you can email me at robin_yang@affymetrix.com. Enjoy
