have you heard of ABS plastic? euro-company kits usually used those and its pretty strong. is is similar to FRP?

abs is pretty much all plastics out there. I use to work in plastics and i would definately not suggust this for a kit. Besides, over that far a distance the shrink/expand rates would be huge. It would take a lot of work to make it fit well consistantly.
