How to install new tips on stock exhaust?
I am interested in replacing the 3" tips on my stock exhaust with a 4" or so. I stopped by a local muffler shop and they said that they would cut the old tips off and weld the new on, adding more piping back on if necessary.
Is that the best way to do it? Would it be possible to somehow heat up the existing tips and pull them off?
Also, as I'm looking for the replacement tips what diameter should I be looking at to fit the stock pipes?

Yup, the stock tips are welded in place, so they'll have to be cut off. And I believe the pipes are 2.5 inchers.
BTW, how does it sound with the stock exhaust and the HF cat + resonator, as compared to the B&B and no HF cat you used to have on there?
