How hard is it to install a spoiler on a car without one.

So someone keyed my trunk lid pretty bad. I have a 2004 GT with the spoiler. I just found someone that is willing to sell me a trunk lid for $175. It is the same color as my car and look like it is in mint condition. 175 sounds like a good price and its cheaper than getting my car repainted. The problem is that the replacement trunk lid does not have the spoiler or any of the mounting holes. How difficult will it be to move my spoiler to the new trunk lid. I am pretty handy but have never done any body work or anything before. Is this going to be more of a pain in the *** then just getting it repainted?

I think there are 4 bolts...so you need to line it up and drill 4 holes

LOL, that is pretty basic, do I need to do anything special when drilling through the body? Do I need to do anything special to the edges of the holes to prevent rusting or anything?

Use masking tape when you drill the holes...and use some self etching primer to paint the bare metal, and then some paint.....I would use some urethane to seal the holes as well...will keep it from leaking

I'd rather have a professional do it for me. I had mine installed for $40.

Same, I'm having a body shop do it for me in addition to my body kit.

Unbolt the spoiler from the bad trunk. Use a large piece of paper or an old poster or something like that to make a template of the location of the holes. Then transfer the template to the new trunk. Mark and drill.

Or just bring the 2 trunk lids to a body shop and have them do it. Shouldn't be anymore than just .5 hour labor. Probably $50. If it leaks its on them to fix it not you.
