Hit again while not even in the car.

Alright so this makes the third time this has happened in my 3+ years of ownership. I left my car parked on the side of the road in my subdivision last night instead of my driveway because there was no room and about 9 am this morning my neighbor from across the road knocks on my door and says your car has just been hit...

So I'm thinking of a few select words to say to the guy and as I head outside I dont see another car, so I ask my neighbor where the other guy is and he said he continued on up the road. I guess he was trying to find a place to turn around and get out of there because there is only the one way in and out. Good thing I decided to step in front of his truck and make him stop because he was on his way out with a hit and run.

I immediately called the cops and got them involved to get a statement, I got the guys insurance and I even made the guy and the cop verify that he is still holds an active policy and not just a piece of paper.

So all that is good but I'm a little pissed off now

heres some cell phone pics.

This one shows the damage to the front rim, fender, scratches on the door and damage to the side skirt.

More sideskirt/door damage

This shows the rear rim, quarter, rear bumper damage. Not sure if there is damage to the suspension or not but the rim is sitting at an angle now, could be because it wont hold air anymore but I'm not sure.

There is also a little bit a damage to the mirror. Scratches and what not but I forgot to take a picture of that.

Sounds like you handled it well; good for you catching that jerk. In general, is bondo a bad thing… or just, in your opinion, for the extent of damage to the rear quarter?

Bondo/boddy filler really is not a bad thing and I am not against it especially if your on a budget. However since his insurance is covering it I want to have the metal replaced to make it more solid back there, not to mention that is a lot of damage for bondo if you ask me. I'm okay with using it for something like a few door dings that couldnt get pulled out perfect because in that instance it seems crazy to cut in and replace the metal.

Even when you cut and replace panels with new sheet metal you will still need to use a bit of body filler or seam filler to blend the two pieces of metal to have a good paint finish.

That sucks! You owe your neighbor for alerting you!

I used to own a Audi A4 that was hit and run 3 times so I know how you feel.

After closer inspection just now of my car again, the entire rear wheel is pushed towards the front of the vehicle so the rear suspension will have to be redone im sure

Yeah no room in the garage either. The old camaro is in there on one side and the other side has its engine/trans and subframe taking up space.
