HID light or halogen?

does anyone here know ways to check either ur rx8's light is HID or not??
my friend told me that if its white then it must be HID....but since my rx8 is the touring edition and it doesn't come w/ factory leather...so i thought its not...however the light is not yellowish to me at all......and if its not HID....i saw some bulb w/ code h7 on ebay ...but they are hid bulb....can i still install those on my car...??

thx for all your helps....appreciate it

Every 8 except the base model has HID. If you're car has a DSC switch on the left side then you have HIDs. HIDs also make a slight flash and change color slightly after you turn them on.

the HID bulb code is ds2 i believe, the NON hid bulb code is h7.

You should be able to tell, the HID's look way different than the non hid's. They non hids look like every other car on the road, that normal yellowish/white headlight color, the hids are alot whiter with a tad of blue/purple.

they also are self-leveling, if i'm correct. when u turn the headlights on, if u see them self-level, then they're HIDS.

you really can't, it just does it itself, i've never seen mine ajust. The driver side will always be a tad lower than the passenger side too, thats normal as well (so you don't blind on coming traffic)

Park with the drivers wheel on the sidewalk and the other in the street. Then turn your lights off and then back on... You should see them move.

exactly. u will see the beam move or shift very slightly when initially turning them on. it's subtle, so you'll want to park with your headlights pointing towards a wall or flat surface and turn on the beams when it's dark- ie so u can see the light beam.

Ahhh and I thought my **** was fucked up! Phew. Dill is a well of knowledge.

Anyway, I know mine are HIDs cause they make the green grass appear to be this awesome color in the summer when i start it up.

Our HID's will appear blue for a few moments. Once it's warmed up, it will be a pure white. If the bulb was colored, it wouldn't change to white afterwards..
