so sorry to hear about this... I never had any problems dealing with them but I picked up the item from their shop (and I'm glad I did). Although it's tough to get a hold of them sometimes, I can say from my experience that Boomer and the rest of the folks at Mastergrade showed outstanding customer service. maybe carbonltd can chime in since they are mastergrade's distributor. I'll try to give brgreen8 a call and see if he can talk to them.

Wow, such hostility on this forum. I'm sure if Mastergrade gave you a tracking number it was shipped. We are there a few times a month and I believe I remember seeing an RX8 trunk being made.

I'll ask the owner what the hold-up is and see if I can get an ETA from him. Sometimes orders take longer then expected, even for our shop, and we are their master distributor. They have very high standards and when you buy one of the first products from a new mold, delays should be expected. I remember the owner telling me the first 3-5 products to come out from a new mold get thrown away because they don't meet their standards. Composite work takes alot of time and Mastergrade is going nowhere, just be alittle more patient and I'll make sure your trunk gets out ASAP...if it hasn't already.

It is easy to say be patient when it is not your money. There is no need to take sides and defend their actions. Bad customer service is what it is. I'm sure they did not intend for any of this to happen but it did and now they must work harder to deliver the product that has been paid for.

It amazes me how so many companies forget communication with their customer base is extremely important. People tend to get upset when there are delays. People tend to get really upset and tell people about it when they feel their issue is being brushed off to the side.

I recieved the trunk, and it was damaged very badly in shipping. It was not packaged very well, it did not even have a box. It was wrapped in bubble wrap and plastic, with some foam bocks on the edges of the trunk.
The clear coat is cracked and chipped in 3 places and there is a hairline crack along the edge of the trunk where the weave meets the undershell.

All in all I am at a loss for words. This has been the single biggest nightmare I had in ordering ANYTHING over the internet.

Im having the trunk repaired by a local custom carbon fiber fabricator, which adds to the cost of all this.

Besides that it looks great, fitment is a 9/10. The trunk does not attach as they said it would. The OEM trunk has the male piece of the screw sticking out of the trunk, and the nut bolts onto the underside of the bracket. The mastergrade trunk is a female piece, which requires you to go out and buy 4 12mm bolts.

Everything about this has been a complete pain in the ***. I would never do buisness with mastergrade or BRgreen again.

Why didn't you file an insurance claim with the shipping company or send the pictures of the shipping damage to BRGreen once you recieved the trunk?

damn SoFL,
when did the package arrive? Were you home to sign for it?
I'd make UPS send it back. Sucks that you have to pay out of pocket.

BRGREEN seems to be completely out of the RX-8 scene so he must have lost all interst in this.
