duck tail style trunk??

would anyone be interested in a duck tail style trunk?? kind of like a bmw csl style or the g35 duck tail style. and also similar to the autoexe trunk lid. and also would you guys that are interested prefer carbon or frp (though they'll probably come in both eventually if this gets enough interest).

thanks for looking and all ideas/comments welcome

assuming price is right and fitment is spot on, is anyone interested??

here are some picture references as to how this trunk will look like:

OR if people prefer just a trunk lip, could also make something this happen

I would prefer the trunk over the lip, and either carbon or frp is fine though if I had to choose I would go with carbon. Any side shots by chance?

I like the bottom trunk lip.
And yes fitment would have to be on point, I'm lazy and ody work is exp. if done right I want to just slap a carbon one on and call it a day.

i'm personally digging the full trunk also, but we might start off with just the lip first if that's what most people are going to be asking for. not sure on a price yet cause we're still just getting an interest level on this before we go ahead and make one. but once i get enough interest, i'll go ahead and ask for a price.

as for side pictures, the top one is the autoexe trunk lid and the bottom one is the knightsport trunk lip. those were the only pictures i could find of the style i was looking for.

I agree there are plenty of options of lip spoilers. Need an awesome trunk option.

This was attempted here in the past. Chad has the trunk now but the shop in SOCAL producing it did not make many. Which shop are you working and and do they have a solid rep?

I like it! I personally like the whole trunk more. But if I was in your position, I'd probably start with just a trunk spoiler/lip, since I'd imagine it'd be cheaper. Perhaps less of a loss if they don't sell...

sorry for the late response guys. i talked it over with my supervisor and he said i can't disclose the information about WHO exactly is going to be making the trunk because, quite frankly, we're not 100% sure yet either and we don't want to be giving false information. BUT i can tell you guys that it is a pretty reputable company stationed in socal. and also this thread is just the 'who is interested' thread. i just want to see if i can get enough people interested in this item so we can actually get the ball rolling. once i feel like there is sufficient interest, i'll let out a the more detailed information that everyone is looking for, ie. price, fitment, manufacturer, etc.

so long story short, this is just an "i'm interested vs i'm not interested" thread so see if i can make this possible.

Many will show interest, but without cost & fitment, how many people will commit is unknown.

From a business standpoint, I don't think there are any widely distributed pieces within the US, so there is an opportunity. I think I know who you are working with?

A CSL style trunk option for the 8 would be great

IF its Shine, no interest what so ever, because all they do is rip off others peoples ****. If its an original design then maybe.

Go with the trunk, the lips are a dime a dozen. I get tonnes of compliments on mine. I would suggest no 3rd tail light, I love mine without it. I really like how they kept the square edge that begins near the tail lights. I'm getting the top portion painted soon. Here is a pic.

It was made by Mastergrade btw.

A 3rd brake light is mandatory in a lot of places... I agree on the looks though.
I may be interested if the unit is lighter than OE, not made by a replica manufacturer and shipping to eu doesn't come up being insane.
Oh, it has to be fairly cheap too... it's a trunk with no complex shapes in the end!

My third brake light is up top and not visible when not applied.

I had a small one installed originally, and I attended a drifting event in Pontic Mi. I got teased for having such a small led light up top. There was a VLEDS rep there and he told me he was embarrassed by my little led light and got my digits and sent me the one I have now for free. As I mentioned it is not visible when it's off. It is also good because my car is very low and some high sitting trucks only see the led light. I like it more than the small one, and it qualifies as a 3rd brake light in the regions where it is required by law.

Thanks for the input guys! I really appreciate it! I can tell you that I'm not working with shine hahah. And chad, it looks good, but I'll probably go with more of a rounder shape and definitely keep the third brake light. And one of the goals will definitely be a weight saving one. I'll go ahead and talk with the guys in working with to see if I can get a little more info. I'll keep this updated
