I think you can safely say everyone is waiting on the price of these... If it's relatively affordable, I'm sure you will be getting quite a bit of sales.

UPDATE :

I just got off the phone with Marc at Gemini and he said they are aiming for the first set on Monday! so in 2-3 days i'll have pictures and a review of the product posted up keep your eyes peeled

He also said that it took so long is because the vent is a bitch to work with because its such a small delicate piece and has so many curves and smoothness and sanding problems ..

meanwhile....anyone have any suggestions as to what you want to see next made in CF for the 8?

Make it compatable with strakes as an option.

also need high polish stainless or Chrome.

Then I'm in.

Red face 3 Strake/Fit.....

StealthTL (#5) has to back out, my '3 strake set' is on it's way from RX8Fun, doesn't look like a good match.

Alright guys just got off the phone with Marc at Gemini and he told me that he will indeed have a set on Saturday for me to test fit !

He said the mold is a total bitch to work at lol hence the long time it took for them to make it...

He told me on Saturday he will slap a set on my car ( without the mesh ) and just get a final fitting done and then head back to the shop and do the final trimmings and whatnot then the final production piece we go!

So Saturday = final test fit ( i will snap some pics for you guys to see )
Aiming for Monday = FIRST PRODUCTION PIECE and then these babies are ready for purchase!

Not that i am aware of yet.... i will find out on Saturday i guess

Dont worry im sure the price will not be something that will turn away potential buyers...... but the pieces needed alot of work to get done....so dont expect it to be "cheap".... i am just guessing it is in the 180-220 shipped range

Sounds like it is cheaper and cheaper as the AUD climbing in their value Now it is one dollar = 75 UScent.

Thanks BIU Thanks for organizing it for me.

Let me know how much shipping to Australia and his method of payment.

Ok guys Like i said i met up with Marc yesterday to test out the fitment of the prototype CF vents! The shape of the prototypes is perfect, but there is just a little more tinkering on the size of it to have it sit perfectly flush, around 1mm more around. Marc said he will now make 3 more sets of prototypes with all the different changes and sizes and upon finnishing that he will have me out at the shop doing the final test fitment. The perfect set out of the 3 will be the production set :D The protoype that Marc brought me was already a stunning piece but there was just really minor glitches on it and he certainly didnt want a half assed product out on the market from Gemini so guys please bare with him, he will have a VERY good final product out very SOON!

Here are some pics to make you guys drool :p

shot of both pieces of vents (without mesh)

shot of a side with mesh just put in the back (once again, a choice of black or silver mesh will be avaliable in the production pieces)

shot of it on my car WITHOUT mesh (yes my car is dirty i know its been raining alot lately:D)

How do they attach? They don't look all that different from the OEMs ... thought they'd look more like the AutoBahn-Strasse units. Thought they'd look a bit more aggressive.

They will attach via 3M double sided tape because clips are too hard and too much trouble to make on these pieces.

By being more agressive, what do you want to see out from these pieces?

Opinions welcomed thanks

wait, the only way these are being held to the car is double sided tape?

not sure i would trust that enough to keep people OR weather taking them off my car.

Weather taking them off your car?

the 3M stuff is very strong if one little strip of those can keep eyelids from flying off the car going 130 with head on wind.....i doubt the vents will fly off with more tape and no direct head on wind

and as for ppl stealing them..... if ppl really want to steal your vents they will steal them regardless because even the OEM vents, with the clips, pop right off with no effort.....to tell you the truth it will be harder to rip off the CF ones held on by the 3M tape lol you would at least need some tools to take them off
