Can I put 3m paint protection film over HID headlights?
Anyone have any firm info as to yes/no?
Any maximum thickness of film allowed?
Thanks for any input.
HAve searched the threads here. I ask because I ordered some 3m film, and I was going to put it over the headlights after the bumper was done by the dealer, but the dealer thought that the heat from the headlamps might screw up the film or the lenses.

I did mine
I had mine done right as I picked up the car in Nov 2003. Had no problems at all. In fact the folks who applied the 3m film guaranteed the head lights from rock damage. Note: not the lenses just the light unit. They said that a rock might break the lenses but the 3m film would protect the light system from damage. At over $800.00 a head light, 3m film seemed the only way to go.
