Calling all RX8s lowered with Mazdaspeed kit
#51
I've got the MS body kit and full MS suspension. It will definately scrape, I would hate to have to use it as a daily driver. But its really not that bad.
Will post pics when I get home if you still want to see them.

trem...? ha ha, i don't know what you're talking about man. any rubbing you mean? yes...the wheels are 18's, with 275/35 tires. the tires do rub due to their width, but if you get a tire calculator online and calculate the overall height of 275/35/18, you could get the same or very similar height with a more narrow tire.
but yes, 18" rims, tein s, ms kit. i don't have a good front picture in my album, just back and side shots.
not, tein s are not heigh adjustable (no springs are to my knowledge). you'd have to get coilovers to get ride height adjustability as far as i know.......read: expensive. you might be thinking of the koni yellows stiffness adjustability, but not ride height.

I'd probably go for a more narrow tire though.
Ah I see. I'd probably just hope that the Tein S + body kit don't put it too low. I'd get the body kit after the springs and shocks IF I have decent clearance. I don't want to be cracking and scraping my bumper.
Could you measure your clearance if possible?
How does the feel of your car now compare to when it was stock?
And Rx-Hawk, sure I wouldn't mind seeing some pics, thanks.

It's tramline, the tire tendency to follow road irregularities.
I'd probably go for a more narrow tire though.

well in my experience, the car did that 100% stock. i haven't noticed much difference with the aftermarket stuff.
that's your best bet - start with the springs and shocks...get your ride height where you want it w/ the oe body, then pay attn and see how much you scrape that way. THEN think about a kit. i can try to measure tonight, but i think there is something on here that says how much lower the ms kit is vs oe, so you could get an idea that way.
the car, stock, was amazing. i guess i kind of got used to it b/c it's even better now. it would probably feel weird to drive a stock 8.

I'd do that instead of the MS bodykit. It is cheaper and won't be as prone to scraping since it won't be as low, unless that front bumper is just as low?
What do you think?
It'd be
rear flares $275
side flares $300
air dam front $460
front splash guards $95
$1130
instead of
front bumper $1500
under spoiler $875
side skirts $875
$3250

they are 12 x 1.5. Well they are anodized and they hold up well BUT, I have removed my lug nuts about 10x for install/adjustments on the coilovers, to shave the tab,etc and I can see the color getting scratched off.
Don't get them unless you plan to leave your wheels alone for awhile.

i've been sitting for this height since Jan. and it was fine till this happened
It does have some more room to be lowered even during hard cornering.
Can I go lower? I think yes
Should I? I don't know... what do you guys think? I've been debating myself a lot lately, but again, I don't wanna crack my bumper again... :'(

Thanks guys, I may push out the front wheels about 3mm and camber just a tad. But lower is not that necessary for me. It's drive-able and that's what I want. My concern is always to make it look nice without sacrificing handling and typical street driving... and in Chicago, that's about as low as I want to go.
