Anybody have any experience with them?

I know how everyone has been cautioned about eBay body kits, but this MS replica in urethane seems to be of pretty good quality (from the pictures...). Wondering if anyone else has seen this or had any experience with them.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-06...item19ad37bd41

He has plenty of feedback = 100%, but the bulk of the postives were for some washer nozzle sales...

Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't do it...

Authentic is really the only way to do it. The BS involved with rep. kits has caused many to pull their hair out.

Gotta pay to play....

Not gonna lie, $800 for a full kit is pretty tempting. You might be able to get away with minimal work done on the rear bumper and maybe even the side skirts. You always hear about replica front bumper issues, though.

There are plenty of members on here that run replica Mazdaspeed body kits; it really depends on which replica you get and which body shop is making them fit. It's hit or miss, good luck.

The price is tempting. It's high enough to suggest that this is better quality, but not the obscene pricing of OE parts. My fear is that with urethane, it either fits...or it doesn't. Gotta admit, the car in the listing looks pretty good, but there's not telling what it is or who made the parts.

Not true
It's ebay garbage, you'll buy it for 800 and could spend an additional 800 for paint and fitment.

Think it through

Agreed, stay away, remember the old saying "you get what you paid for". Ebay kits can either come out looking good or terrible, with the majority ending up terrible

The seller responded with an offer to send along photos of installed kits (probably authentic MS stuff...), and I've asked him for contact info on those satisfied customers.

Apparently, this thread hasn't turned-up any satisfied or dis-satisfied customers....

^ You seem content with going the ebay route. I have a feeling your going to learn the hard way

Hopefully you'll be happy with the decision you eventually make

always a bad sign when you search around for 10 minutes on google for anything about streetconcept (the maker of the body kit) and can't find anything from more then a few years ago.

800 dollars for an unknown kit is about 799 dollars too much.

here's the owner: Fareza Gandadjaja
3961 E. La Palma Ave
Anaheim, CA 92807
US
Phone: +1.7142654123

i dunno, his email is a yahoo account.. i never trust people with email address that my dad would use.

^HAHAHAHAHAHA - please tell me that's not really his info.

I used to live down the street on La Palma. That entire area is known for a lot of shady businesses - primarily the kind that come in for a couple years, sell some crap then pack up n' disappear.

OP - g'luck w/your purchase - ya might get lucky! then again...ya might not...either way, hope you can afford the outcome

It's ebay garbage, you'll buy it for 800 and could spend an additional 800 for paint and fitment.

Then it would still be cheaper than the MS kit and you may not have to pay forr that much work. All Ebay kits are very unique and you just may get lucky. This is the risk you take unfortunately.

All work can be done yoursself with some research and patience. I say go for it!! You can try fitment and if its too far out, send it back.

The problem with these kits are they are urethane and they are not authentic. Its the combination of both. If the fitment isn't good there is very little you can do. Especially if it's slightly undersized. Urethane only gives so much before it tears. If you are trying to save money go with fiberglass. Most reputable shops do nice fiberglass work. Hell the guy I use fabricates his own hoods from fiberglass. This being said if fitment is off with a fiberglass kit areas can be filled and modified to fit your car perfectly. I went with fiberglass myself just becasue the authentic MS kits are so hard to find and way expensive when you do find one. My fiberglass kit didn't fit right out of the box it needed to be shaped and fited to my car. To make a long story short stay with authentic if you have the funds otherwise go with fiberglass.
