Hey folks, for the rear brake/tail lights (7443) and high-mount stop light, do we need RED bulbs?
I want to replace those with 15-led wedge type bulbs, and wonder if they should be red or white... I suppose red, just wanted to confirm (I don't have the car here to check).
Thanks!

I use red not white.... red is much brighter than stock and it is only about 30% less bright than white - according to autolumination's spec chart
Devoid have you actually have white ones in your car :D
I just scare if it is white and turn out funny then it is waste of money.
BTW: devoid, my bro, I use your money to buy more goodies for the site.

ive searched for the answer to this...to no avail.... how do you get to the turn signals in the front. I havent spent that much time looking at it but it looks like a pain in the butt

Its pretty easy. Just go through the wheel wells. Cut the wheel, take off the cover with a phillips screw driver, pop out the retainers, peel back and dig in. If you have big hands or arms, get a scrawny little kid to dig in there...not that i did that or anything. its most of a feel thing since u can't see well in there. but when putting in the new bulb u can reach around the front and peep thru the empty hole for alignment. i have a yellow 8 and the stealth bulbs look sweet!

what are you talking about not bright enough? the stealth bulbs i got are just as bright as my stock...besides, they're turning lights, how bright do they need to be? and if u'r going to get clear corner lenses, its pointless to still have an amber bulb that u can kinda see.
answer the above question...stealth bulbs are chrome covered bulbs, but they blink amber. they come in other colors to, but most applications are for the turning lights and the clear corner parking lights. i got the ones from the site at the begining of this thread. u really have to push them to get them in though, at first i didn't think they fit. but then i stopped being a p#ssy and pushed harder, like think u'r gonna break it hard, but they fit great and are plenty bright. if i get a chance this weekend i'll take a pic of it, day and nite. --Mark

Anyone have the 12- or 15-LED 7440's as backup lights? Are they a lot brighter than the stock ones? I want backup lights that are as bright as possible, but I'm afraid that halogen ones might be too hot.
Thanks
Thanks

GO for the 15LED. The side LEDs will make the light more confluent around the reflectors I will do that sometimes too!

Which load equalizer?
Autolumination (http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm) lists three types of load equalizers.
They are all classified as addressing turn signal problems, but I don't know what resistance (ohm) rating is required for each type of light (backup vs. brake vs. signal, etc)
Anyone using these equalizers and can clue me in?
Thanks for the help!

I emailed them earlier...
They said, you choose different equalizer depends on if you are installing 2 or 4 LEDS.
If my memory serves me correctly (*hang on the page says it), 6 ohms if you do front 2 or rear 2 turning signals. 3 ohms if all four together.
Backup and brake DOES not need equalizers as they are not blinking type.
If you don't have the equalizer the blinks will go crazy on you. That is all. It will still work.

Installed all turn signal (with two 3-ohm equalizers), brake and reverse LEDs.
All in all, the car looks pretty sharp. No annoying colored bulbs, plus the rapid on-off of LED looks nice, too.
I must say, though, that more LEDs are needed to make the turn signals visible, especially during daylight hours. The entire enclosure should be LEDs to provide safe indication of a lane change, etc. (like how newer BMWs have, for example).
Hopefully someone will develop an OEM-style taillight LED cluster... until then, these will suffice.
