Someone said ashtray light is a 194... I wonder how are you going to take it out . You have to take the whole face out I suppose.

Hey talking about the blinkers... does anyone have 7440 LED blinker and make it work or need a converter or somesort from autolumination.com? Or is it a good look at all? You can get an amber LED which is white/clear when it is unlead

I'm already way too familiar with removing the ashtray light. You have to pull the console trim panel (around the gear shift), unplug the electronics attached to it, unscrew the two screws holding the ashtray module in, pull forward, and to remove the socket reach in around the bulb (nice and tight), squeeze the tabs and pull it out from the back side. Then all you have to do is yank the bulb from the socket.

Thanks for the info, Taka!

ok...almost 3 hours later i have finally changed out all my bulbs with the LEDs. about 2 1/2 hours was spent on the running lights next to the Mazda symbol. but they all look really clean and i am glad to have them.

now my only problem is that my turn signals blink twice as fast...does anyone know how to fix this???

The easiest way for the parking light is to approach from under the bonnet.
  1. The ECU cover has to be taken out on the left hand side - this is done by taking the 3 10mm bolts up (don't drop them), you need to take the battery cover in the process;
    the right hand side is relatively striaght forward;
  2. spot the white tube sticking to the tunnel, it is in the shape as the rocket
  3. replace the W5W/194
  4. When you put it back, it is handy to light them up and see the lights lighting up in the tunnel - use that to guide you in rather than doing it blind (or dim in this case )

May need a resistor for it. I 've never done it and don't know how to do, only heard of it is the solution and it is available in autolumination.com

The stock sidemarker bulb is WHITE. You can get an aftermarket amber 194 from autolumination.com.

Just to clarify the #9005 = H9 bulb issue... according to this page http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/hl-filament-bulbs.htm they are not the same thing, a #9005 is actually the same as a HB3...

What are the lumens of all the halogen and HID bulbs?
According to the Bosch/SAE Automotive Handbook (4th Ed.) the following is a list of bulbs, wattage and output at 12V:
Bulb_typ, Wattage(W), Luminous_flux(lm):
H1 55 1550
H2 55 1800
H3 55 1450
H4* 60/55 1650/1000
H7** 55 1500
H8*** 35 700
H9*** 65 1870
H11*** 55 1200
HB1(=9004) 65/45 1200/700
HB4(=9006) 55 1100
HB3(=9005) 60 1900
HB5*(=9007) 65/55 1350/1000

I found a store that sells the H11, Fog Lite bulb. It's the cheapest I could find that PIAA bulb online. Haven't ordered it yet, but when I do I'll let you know how it looks/works.

He meant this one... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7920630706

They are called XD5 and can be purchased in globalpremier.com

I have ordered from them and currently have them on in the headlight and the fog light. They are as bright as the stock one (I am not claiming it is brighter) but it is the exact (at least with my eyes) same colour with the xenon. So for this look I am very happy with it. Cheap too.

Durability? I burnt one after 3 months. BUt I guess I touched the glass on the process of installation so I guess the oil caused increase heat the blew the bulb. If it blows again, I will let you know. I am sure they are not as durable as the PIAAs.

Cheap mod for the colour that I want.

You are welcome. I think they are good product. They have no label saying where it is made from but I bet my bottom dollar that it is from Taiwan.

So I got all my lites in today and installed...
I didn't realize the bulbs for the side markers and the blinkers were differet...rereading i see the info was right in front of me...so now i have some spares. If you have the clear corner lenses, the stealth bulb/amber is the way to go.

The 9005's are wrong...as stated earlier they're the wrong pin pattern.

I put in superwhite LEDs for my parking lights, instead of ugly dirt brown, they now compliment my HIDS, it looks nice.

Inside, I replaced my dome and door lights with Red LEDs. I was going to go yellow to match the car, but with the whole radio and instrument cluster being red I figured I'd match. And it gives a nice 'camera backroom' glow...bright to see, but not bright?

And finally I replaced my map lights with Inverted Lens LED...not as bright as stock, but it looks nice.

http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm - i just saw this, may be a fix to the blinker problem somebody said they had.

Overall, very happy with the site and more importantly, the bulbs. Install was a snap, 30min max, and it looks a lot better than stock.

I ordered two sets of those H11's talked about earlier, but not installed yet...my fog lites don't come on, so i need to let Mazda fix it, then they'll go on.

All you need is a long hand. Very easy to do if you know how to do it. Take ALL the clippers of the front mud guard in front of the wheel. Oh yeah, turn the wheel outside to have easier access. It is located next to your oil cooler. Reach it and unclip the connector and they can be taken out antin clockwise. To install, easier to get someone to see if it is aiming right *(or you can look yourself if you have a very long neck ). I have to admit putting it in is much harder. If you can take the wheel off it is much easier. Make sure you don't touch the bulb - otherwise it will blow in 2 weeks.

Therefore, I rather do it myself rather than a junior garage boy at the dealer who will stuff up the bulb by getting his oily hand on it.

I didn't think about doing it from the wheel well. Thanks, because since I installed my RB Oil Cooler screens, I figured I'd have to pull the bumper again. Hopefully I have long enough arms. But I still need to wait for Mazda to fix whatever is wrong with my fog lites, neither of them turn on. Thanks again! --Mark

Ok, so looking around on the internet nobody offers a H9 bulb. I'm begining to think there isn't even a H9 bulb in existence. All the sites have H1, 3, 4, 7 and 11...but there's no H9's to be found. Can anybody clear this up for me?
Its not too big of a concern because its not like you drive with High Beams on regular, and I wanted to replace some of the bulbs (parking, and fog) because the they looked like ****, not because they weren't bright enough. But I'm sure some of you want to change it out because...well to just change it out. Just trying to get this nice list more accurate. --Mark

Found it...i dunno why I didn't think about doing that...i'm dumb, heh. Now, can we find a place that sells ALL of our bulbs LEDs. Kinda dumb having to order in from two or three different places. I guess it won't be a big deal after getting the first set in the car since hopefully we won't have to replace bulbs for awhile. But would still be nice to go to one site...anybody found one?
