Reflashes giving me a friggin' MIGRAINE!

My 8 is in the shop next week - finally got the tranny heat shield parts in for the recall work. Will get the M flash at the same time.

I am in the market for a CZ box. I can only imagine what a headache this reflash cycle time has turned into for Maurice and co. Has any testing yet been done with the M flash? Are CZ stage 1 units ordered today suitable for the M version?

Lets see if I got this right. The M flash is the same as the L flash, but with enhanced characteristics to prevent flooding.

The latest version of stage 1 has been tweeked for the L flash, so it is also just as good for the M flash.

Well, we have been looking into the "M" flash and it appears the only difference is some minor bug fixes and the cold start "procedure" the car does itself. It delays the "fast idle" start after the engine starts - this to help reduce flooding. The rest of the air/fuel map appears unchanged from the "L" flash.

Oh, and yes, the reflashes are driving us crazy! At least they help the car, and that's the most important point.

I would agree 100% on the migranes!!! My car as always ran really well but with all this talk about reflashes and how much better the car runs with them, I wanted to join the crowd. The CZ 1.1 rocked with my original maping which I would assume was 'J' or 'K' since the car was built in July and purchased in Oct. Yet, again everyone said the new maping with the 1.1 would work best with 'L' so I made the appt. to have it done. I supposedly got the 'M' flash two days ago but have no way of knowing that other than taking the service guys word for it. I ran the car with the CZ 1.1 off for the first day and couldn't tell a difference in the car at all. I turned on the CZ 1.1 yesterday and didn't feel a difference there either. Prior to the flash with the 1.1, even in the lower rpm range the car had some push but now nothing. I don't know where to turn at this point. I put in a call to Maurice but from what I understand, he is out of town. I want my rocket back. Will I get it? What else can I do? I can't imagine getting the 'M' flash w/ the 1.1 and having a slower car. Say it isn't so!!!

Didn't CZ post some hp results with the L vs. K PCM flashes and the Stage 1? If I remember right, L had a more consistent power buildup and higher peak power than K. There have been several postings suggesting that the "smooth" buildup is why you're not feeling your "rocket" ...

He also posted some pretty compelling fuel efficiency gains with "L".

Will have to go back through and check before I cough up the $795 CAD for a stage 1.
