His base map does NOTHING. It is pure stock based on the bin you provide him.

Don't think he means Mazda maniacs base map. I think he means the Cobb Stage 1

The cobb stage 1 map is garbage. It runs stupid lean and bumped up timing which makes no extra hp whatsoever. Also, I had a local rx8 owner that actually blew (broken apex seals) his engine because he was running that retarded map.

That same owner then swapped a used engine from the wreckers in and made the highest hp ive seen out of a stock rx8 engine with a proper tune at 193 rwhp sae dynojet. He had all the boltons, racing beat intake, header, full 3" single exit exhaust, and bhr ignition.

I was referring to the base map you get as part of configuring mep with epifan.

I heard a story from the horse's mouth about the EFI Dude (I think tied to Pettit) map being pulled to discover it was one of MM's early maps before Cobb fixed the ATR security hole.
Interesting with the amount of work that went into the Pettit flash, that they would then just copy an "old MM map" in place of all their dyno work.

I want to see what part of the map is claimed to be copied since you are making these claims.

Jeff stated he found his header (copyright notice, etc). Take it up with him directly if you want more info. I'm just passing on what Jeff told me.

I still can't log the mass airflow via mazdaedit. Can anyone screenshot the buttons I have to press? I feel like an idiot.

Also, is the AFR on the fueling tables limited to stoich? Shouldn't it be allowed to go up to something like 15.6?

That I know of Jeff does not make any software that would write "headers", sounds like he is still scamming.

If you mean "someone has the same tables" for "setting X" from "his tune"; then it is very possible that some settings between dyno tunes on similar cars would be similar, and does not mean it was copied, only that Jeff can measure and tune as well as someone else using a dyno.

Do you mean the MAZDA copyrighted bits that allow uploads to the MAZDA ECU?
.... then you should obviously know Jeff does not own Mazda's software.

And we wonder why Cobb left the RX8 market with these type of undocumented copyright claims, by RX8 tuners.

Choose 'Mazda can' in this screen and you will find it .

Each map file contains a user area header that you can put whatever you want in. Jeff explained it was text in this area of the dump that pointed it back to one of his own maps.

FWIW, I posted this on his FB wall a couple months back:

Thanks Brett! For some reason that dialog was hidden by default, but once I found it it was there.

#yolodouchebag is paranoid about stolen tunes
So, why would any tuner add Jeff's info to a tune file not even made in ATR?
Other tuning packages do not just "import" a different tuning software's files, like it's a word doc...

If Jeff's tune data was copied, it would have had to have been by hand by copying tables, which doesn't copy the ATR "description" that Jeff now says was copied.

When Jeff originally made the claims he said he owned the copyright on Mazda's encryption bit string that allows uploads to the ECU.

I believe his claims were what drove Cobb away from the RX8.

Has anyone done both Cobb ATR and MazdaEdit?
How does ME compare to ATR?

Can it block CELs?

Let me google that for you ;-)

For hardware, you need a Tactrix OpenPort 2.0, as mentioned here: epifanSoftware | mazdaEdit

Plus a laptop, or a pc and very long usb lead :-)

2 years and I never knew this. I've been logging the MAF voltage, and just created a spreadsheet recently to convert it into g/s as I wanted to see those values for some throttle mapping work.
