Mazdaedit

Just bought this and working my way through getting it sorted to tune my turbo 8 .
Anyone else tried it ?

HiFlite999 10-16-2012 11:37 PM

Never heard of it, but sounds interesting. So this + the Tactrix port replaces the Cobb?

Brettus 10-17-2012 12:15 AM

Yes - have yet to do my first reflash . Need to buy myself a laptop as that needs to be connected to the OBD port via Tactrix 2.0 to do the flash.

TeamRX8 10-17-2012 12:30 AM

it was brought up on the forum starting back around 2010, never seen much on it until lately

guess you can start filling us all in on the details

alnielsen 10-17-2012 12:42 AM

According to the website, they don't have a personal (one vin) version of the software for the RX8, only the pro version. Has that changed?

Brettus 10-17-2012 12:44 AM

/\ not as far as I know . I have the Pro version .

^ Interesting curves.

I wonder if the program gives access to more PCM tables than the Cobb.

Brettus 10-17-2012 02:03 AM

/\ there is access to all the tables - I had to find a lot of them myself .

NgoRX8 10-17-2012 02:06 AM

I would have a bit of trouble tuning if that was my computer layout...lol

More info, please. Looks like you have the usual tables defined, find any useful tables you haven't played with yet?

No - Have had to use protuner and AP maps to work out what maps are what - has taken me all day just to do that !

Slidin8 10-17-2012 02:28 AM

subscribing to potential epic tuning thread

your my test dummy lol

ShellDude 10-17-2012 08:04 AM

So its all just address based ... you plug in an offset and length / possibly dimensions, Brett?

paimon.soror 10-17-2012 08:26 AM

Brett. Per your note on the S2 thread, would it benefit you in any way for me to get the Tactrix dongle to send you data? Or will remote support not be feasible at this time.

reddozen 10-17-2012 11:22 AM

I'd be interested to see how this evolves for S2 support as well.

9krpmrx8 10-17-2012 11:31 AM

Good stuff. Never heard of it.

ShellDude 10-17-2012 12:05 PM

Looks like the Pro version and the necessary dongle run about $1100 total... not bad at all if it delivers.

There is no slave version currently available but the guy says he could create one for a cost .
As far as providing support - I need to get my own car tuned before I can think about that . Luckily will be fitting a new engine soon so can experiment with my old one without fear :)
