Int-X Starting problem

So recently got my motor back in the car and finally got it running after some issues (thanks for the help guys). When the motor got all fixed and up to par and ready to fire, it would not strart of idle. I made some adjustments to the Idle in the Int-x (removed a ton of fuel) and got the car to idle. Then i moved on to getting the car to start. Up untill now i would always have to pop start it to get it running. Once it starts, it runs really smooth and well through the rpm and now it holds idle. I proceded to add and remove fuel from the crank map. I ended up removing alot of fuel from it and am able to get it to fire. It still takes about three times of turning the car over for about 10 seconds to get it to start and fire. When it fires, it reaks of fuel. (obviously since its dumping fuel in it trying to start).

A little more info and could most likely be my problem. I am currently running the turbo 91 map that comes pre loaded on the int-x. I have the esmeril kit and for some reason the esmeril map is no longer on the dongule. I am not sure what happend to it or why its missing but somewhere along the line it got taken off. So, i am thinking that the map i am running is thinking i have injectors in differnt spots. (i am not sure but i believe that the Turbo 91 map would have the larger injectors in the p2 spot and the esmeril map would have the 1000cc injectors in the Secondary spot)

Basically jsut lookin for a little help to get the car started. I am trying to figure out who and when i can get it tuned but would really liek to fix this starting issue. Maybe someone withe the esmeril kit can take some screen shots of the maps they have and post them up for starting. OR, any other tips or pointers would be great. Thanks guys.

I have gotten a little help and info from some people and gotten things lined up a bit. I have drivin it quite abit.. about 700 miles in no boost and keepin it under 5000 for break in. I have gotten the starting issue better. Its now crankin over after about 4 seconds. basically playing with the crank and idle maps and also had to change my dwell settings for the new coils which had slipped my mind.

Only other issue i have had now is last night i was driving and it died on me three seperate times and three differnt stop lites. Only at idle. This is the first time this has happened to me since i had been driving it and thought i had the idle figured out. So still need to tweak it a little and get a tune on it but its all starting to come together.

Phish806, So you are able to get the car started. Sorry that I couldn't get you the screen shot that you need. Regarding the other issue that you have, the car died at the stop light. Was that happened when you press in the clutch and the rpm just drop to zero? And it will only start again if you pop the clutch one or twice if the car is still in motion? I have that issue too. It is really annoying everytime I see traffic or see stop light because I have to keep looking at the tach to make sure it is not died on me. Let me know if you find solution of what causing it.

My car takes around 5-10 sec crank to get it to start also. Chris made some adjustment last time and it is better but still take long cranks. Feel bad for the starter when I have to start the car.

It does not die all the time at idle and this is the first time it had done it in prolly the first 600 miles. It did it three times the whole night. When i got home i added a little more timing at idle and a little more fuel. I have not driven it much since then but it has yet to die. Still not sure if what i did helped it or if it has jsut not had the same conditions occur to make it die.

Starting it does take me about 4-5 seconds to start it the majority of the time. every now and again it may take about 10 secnods to fire off but those are coming a little less. I did get to talk to chris and i believe i am going to have him give me a safe tune on about 8lbs to get me through the winter untill i get a meth kit and a couple bigger injectors along wiht upgrading hte turbo. The tune wont be happening till next month though. weekend of the 16th or 23rd.

My car is still a work in progress...issues are during starting that take long cranks and then the engine dies issue when I press in the cluth too long. I found out that if I blip the throttle slightly when the rpm is droping (when clutch is in) the engine will bounce back and it won't died. Chris tried to fix this last time but it didn't get better. Other than these two problems the car still need more tuning work after 6000 rpm. Because I am running methanal, sometime then engine will sputter when I am in boost. The AFR would read in the high 9s. This sputter problem gets worse when it warm out, like above 80 degree. We tuned the car when it was in the 60s degree. The is one thing I don't about the engine management controll. The tune is only good for certain weather. And I need to learn how to make minor adjustment on my own. I just too afraid to play around with the handset. What is your suggestion is how to learn to make minor adjustment on the engine?

Is Chris going to do the tuning for you on the week of 16th or 23rd? Hope everything go well with you on your car. If you ever come up to see Chris just make sure you PM me because I am 15 mins from him and it would be nice if we get to meet in person.

Yes, chis will be doing the tune. Right now the plan is on the 16th or 23rd. However, i may move it a little sooner but i am not sure.

As far as adjustments to the tune, i am not the one to be asking. I hav eonly played around with the tune at idle and for cranking. Those two are a little bit safer to make small adjustments to since there is no real load on the engine.

well, I still have a little issues with it starting. But its ALOT better. I believe that if someone who knew the software got thier hands on it they could fine tune it the rest of the way. However i have gotten it to the point where when cold it only takes about three seconds of turning the key and maybe a half blip of hte throttle. Nothign to long and crazy. Once the engine is warmed up, it will usually fire over pretty easily - just a couple cranks fo the starter.

Now i have a completely different issue. The turbo is shot and i now have smoke out the exaust and a wobbly shaft.... yeah i said it.

Is it on a stock motor or a freshly rebuilt motor?

Glad you got it up and running. my issue was a combination of the tuning on the ignition and fuel side of things. Also, updating my dwell settings for the LS coils (which you will prolly have to do) and the fact that it was used housings with new seals made it a little low on compression untill the motor had a few miles on it. I have learned that these motors are verry picky compared to a piston engine. But all in all the experience was a good one as far as learning goes. Glad i wnet though it all myself - NOT glad my pocket book went through it though.
