I'm still at Stage 1
i haven't gotten around to upgrading my unit to Stage 1.1 and i've been on the L flash since it first came out...actually, i think i was the first to write Canzoomer on the problems i was having on cold starts when i first got the unit...
anyways, how bad is this? ...my idling isn't all that smooth with or without the unit but seems a little rougher with it on...power is very noticeable with it on compared to off and i definitely get that big kick at 5000...
am i killing my car right now?

No, there is no ignition adjustment on the early units. That's all you're missing. I don't see how the unit would affect idle, with no ignition board in it, and it not affecting air/fuel until around 2K RPM. When you want to upgrade the unit, it's no charge. I think you have to pay the shipping. When you get updated to "M", I recommend you send it in for an upgrade.
I don't think you're hurting the car, because the only way you would is if you cause it to detonate repeatedly. If you get too close to detonation, you will experience a massive power loss, lasting for 15 sec. or so, when you trigger the protective system built into the car. I think you'd notice that!

ok good, i don't get detonation...what i do get or used to get when it was cold out is power loss at around 3000RPM in any gear...it would feel like you're in first gear and you quickly let off the gas then back on then back off then back on real hard as if fuel would get cut off and then back on repeatedly...that's the only way i can describe other than when sitting in the car when someone is first learning how to drive stick and your head bobs back and forth violently...it doesn't do that with the unit off...
in any case, i have time this weekend to send teh unit in...thanks for the reply
