Got my software and cable
But I have a question. I never got anything to prompt me for a password and I basically think I loaded to maps that is the only thing that came up when I saved the file to a folder. I exported those 2 maps to the main unit and it appeared to save it but not sure. Does this make any sense? Car runs fine but if I was a gambling man I would be it is on the old map and I did nothing loading the latest map on. It ran fine with a noticeable improvement but once again if I exported the data of the two maps would that guarantee that I loaded it correctly? Thanks

Another thing when ever I went to File and looked for LOAD FILE I never did see that I just used open file. The GSC01.p file updated but never to my knowledge got the Language_US.txt file to upload or change.

The maps that I exported and seemed to save were
AIR FLOW ADJUSTMENT MAP
and I cannot find the other one now but I think it was a timing map

OK, a little confusing but here is what is what.
The .p file is the ROM file - basically none of you should have to update that. The program is written in such a way that it is too easy to get to that part of it.
The .gsc file - go to File - Open. Select the may18 .gsc file. Go to Communication - Export data. It should then ask for the password. If it doesn't don't worry. It then asks "Write to the main unit?". Select yes. You should see the right led flashing as the file loads.
That's all there is to updating the map. And I had to run the program twice to check the menu titles (because I'm old and forget after 5 seconds, appearantly .
Check out the other things the program does. You can look at the maps, (fuel and timing), and graph in real time what everything is doing. If you get a "USB extension cable", plug it into the Stage 1 unit, and run it into the cab, then plug the programming cable into it, you can watch what the car is doing while you drive - be careful, cellphones are one thing, but trying to operate a computer while driving is very dangerous. Get a friend to help.
Be sure to use the programming cable with the extension cable, otherwise you could blow the USB port on your computer.

Think I got it Thanks! The car runs good. No idle problems or anything. I can feel an improvement and hopefully when it settles in it will get better. Thanks for your help. And I want to give shebam a big Thumbs up because without him, I still would be posting a bunch of help POSTS! Thanks shebam!!! Lee
