Cobb Stage 1 Tune Unsafe?
You would be better doing the reverse...
The odds of killing the engine are way higher on the track than on the street
If you are going to go through the trouble of getting a COBB...get it tuned......otherwise spend the money on gas

I mean I already bought it so i'm stuck now, but it does have some cool features like.............................................. .Valet mode, lol.
I was hoping there tune would have been alot better.
Maybe ill try and tune it my self, but I will have to do alot of research.
Any quick tips for tuning, or will I be getting in over my head.

Honestly.....pay Jeff the money he wants and get him to tune it...
Or talk to Kane...and learn how to DIY
Or talk to Brice...I think he has a tuner who might be tuning remotely as well...
Don't expect it to be super easy to do..and the learning curve is steep....but it is do-able if you do your homework
I ran the Cobb stage 1 a couple of times and it was lean on top end. Many people have reported the samething. Butt I'm not stock and so are alot of others.
A different intake/exaust will make it run leaner per Cobb.
No biggy.. Cobb claims its for stock only.

I agree. It is excellent. Doing nothing is also doing nothing bad. When I want it to do good, then you are the man for it.
@Razz - some maps of other people had a really weird section of the map where it was running extremely lean at high loads and high rpms. Of course, modifications that increase airflow would exacerbate that, but a major issue was also the map.

I suppose so. The thread went far over my head (and probably his) head on how the system works; all I know is that his map was much different than mine.
The newest flash from Mazda is almost two years old and is the same one used by Cobb as the basis for the calibration set.
Why do people ask that question? Who cares what the base Mazda calibration is if you are going to tune the car?
