Cobb at this price -- and even its previous price -- was a great deal. Anyone who says differently has obviously never tried to get any other car tuned on an independent EMS.

I think it's just because people have gotten used to the idea that your tunes were "free" so they are expecting the same price drop with the free tune, and nobody wants to be the person who orders it before you decide to do a price drop.

No matter though, you'll still be in demand even if your tunes are no longer "free". But in any case I am on standby for a lil while

while it would be nice to save a few bucks, the AP at $695 was still a BARGAIN so you can still feel good about your purchase.

If I had known that Panda Express was gonna have a special on a two entree platter to go today, I wouldn't have eaten lunch there yesterday.

I think that some of the "steepness" might be coming from perceived price vs actual price. While we don't know what Jeff's profit margain was before the price drop, we know about what it is now. And while there are a lot of good and bad things stated here on the forums about Jeff's services...it is easier to swallow the potential for bad service at the perceived free than the (approximate) actual of $100. While I agree that the tune that Jeff provides is probably worth more than $100, I can see how his customer service skills might hinder that perception.

Where can you go to get a custom tune for $100? Anyone that has issues with the $100 and the service should entertain going to another tuner.

Not yet - you still have to tune my ceramic sealed street ported Engman engine. I have a business proposition for you that will make your day. I will PM you later.

Fun.

I think I've arrived at a price point that will keep me going (although, at a lower profit).
We'll see if people still buy.

I've seen a steady increase in people who buy elsewhere and then come to me expecting that I should tune their AP for free.

I believe this can be directly related to the new audience of rx8 owners due to the 10k price tag

The euro version is still $755 on MazdaManiac's website but the rest are all $595?

The EUDM version is 450 Euro (list price set by Cobb) with the Custom Calibration Service as an added 100 Euro.
Whatever that converts to in US dollars is beyond my control.
I think that is $744 USD today (March 21st, 2010).

Reading the text on your site, it looks like we have to pay 594 USD + 99 for your tune. Is this right? That basically makes it the same old price of 694?

Code:
MazdaManiac customers that purchase the Cobb AccessPORT receive application-specific calibrations through the Custom Calibration Service® that are customized for your vehicles modifications for only $99.00!
(Regularly $299.00.)

These custom tuning files are NOT available anywhere else!

Read below about the Custom Calibration Service®.

only $594.00USD*
€550.00EUR*
I think what you meant (following your comment on the EURO version) is that your tune is included for only 99.00 while you normally charge 299 for it. Am I right? Does that mean paying 594$ gets me an AP with your tune?

Just trying to plan my next purchase here
Thanks

I guess I need to clarify my language.

The $594 is for the AccessPORT and INCLUDES the 6 months of the MMCCS.
