If you are serious, PM me the details of your plan and we will see.

I have never been to NYC.

Hmm, alright. I'll talk with Al and the local guys. Maybe the NJ guys would also like a piece of this.

Kane - you've done a travel and teach before? If so, can you pm me an example of how it should be done and we'll get it figured out? Thanks!

I'm confused based on MM's reply on the Cobb tuning thread as well, but the first post by Brice shows the RX-8 MT Cobb at $495. Would that not be the price drop?

Then I apologize. When I asked I was told only the other versions not the RX. I will delete my other posts.

Yeah this was the email I got last night from Scott Brood at Cobb. I really wish they would have given more advance notice than this, from a business stand point if I was stocking their product I would be quite upset.

Attn: All COBB Dealers and Tuners,

I'm happy to announce that we are going to be lowering the retail price on most of our AccessPORT line. This change is effective immediately and the pricing will be as follows:

All of the following part numbers for factory forced induction vehicles are going from $695 to $595.

AP-MAZ-002
AP-MIT-002
AP-SUB-001
AP-SUB-002
AP-SUB-003

All of the following part numbers for factory normally aspirated vehicles are going from $695 to $495.

AP-HON-001
AP-MAZ-001
AP-NIS-001
AP-NIS-002
AP-NIS-003
AP-NIS-004

The GT-R AccessPORT is not changing, it will remain at $995.

Your discount percentage will stay the same even at these lower prices. Please let me know if you have any questions at all and if there's anything I can do for you. Thank you for your continued support and here's to an outstanding 2010 for all of us!

Thank you,

Scott

I'm still waiting to hear from Scott at Cobb.
The price drop is not retroactive and I still have several orders in with them.

A price drop like this effectively puts me out of the AccessPORT business.

No ****, that would suck if you had a bunch of them in stock and it sucks for the people who ordered recently at the old price.

Bad business model for Cobb to screw their dealers. Hopefully they make the necessary adjustment so no one is out $200 per unit.

I think the bigger issue is that the % discount is the same for dealers but with a lower price then MM get's less total profit per sale, so his calibration service will no longer be worth his while.
