I was hoping it would be that simple, alas no

I took the Cobb Stage 1 and made a few minor changes and saved it under a different name.
Loaded that one in to the ECU.

When I go to the ECU menu on the ATR software only the Live Tuning and Reset ECU options are available, the Data Logging option is grayed out.

When I select the Live Tuning option I get an error message saying it cannot connect to the ECU, then all my Dashboard lights go freaky, including the RPM needle and Speedometer.
Only way to fix it is to Reset the Codes.

There is no need for a special cable is there?
Just the standard USB cable is what I'm using.

 

^You have be connected with "Live Tuning" to datalog

Mine did something similar, goto your AP Updater and de-select the Beta option in the options menu, then re-update your AP and try it again.

 

did you install the separate dongle driver?

 

@chickenwafer: The AP Updater already had the Beta firmware unchecked <sigh>. So I tried checking them and updating with the Beta firmware. You well know the result of this, fail. Exact same error "cannot connect to ECU". But I had to try.
One thing however is I got lazy and only turned the Key to the "on" position. I didn't actually start my car. I'm assuming this will still work?

@r0tor: Yeah I posted on this a little earlier. This might actually be the problem. Below is what happens when I try to update the dongle software.

when the ap is attached to the pc, do you have manager open? what i mean is, is the ap actually connected to the pc or just plugged in?

Yes my AP is actually connected to the PC and the Manager is open.

glad you're not the only one. maybe someone will think of a fix. i don't really see the need to use the live stuff though. anyway, good luck.

on mine it won't show standard values and a graph at the same time. the graph will just disappear when i check the box. clicking other maps, hopping in and out, standing on one leg, all does nothing to bring it back.

works fine on xp though. weird.

Does Hymee's solution have any disadvantage's compared to AP? I know this has probably been disscussed to death in other threads.

I had my mind set to swap out my Unichip Q piggyback to AP just because I wanted to start get full control over my EMS without dealing with tuners.

Kane, you do have alot of knowledge of this, would Hymme's product and your Baseline give me the same package as AP with Accesstuner Race?

 

I tune with the Hymee on my car - they do the same things; the biggest difference at the moment is the number of tables the Hymee has "figured out" is less than the AP - but all the important stuff is there.

Baseline gets the same results out of both of them.

Just to add. I dont see it as a disadvantage but you cannot mask CEL's on ProTuner, you have to actually deal with the problem.

 

Yes I have read that, it would be nice if hymee would add that as an option. I have a constant CEL for my midpipe and its little annoying. dont need a lamp telling me that I have a problem with my cat, I uninstalled it...

 

I cant speak for him but I know that he is aware of it. PM him and ask him his thoughts on it.

Anyone else not able to get the AP to log data? I go into the Data Log section and press ok to start logging, but then the AP goes back to my previous live monitor selection and it says not logging underneath it.

Unless I'm mistaking the functionality and need a laptop plugged in instead?
