DIY: Mazda Ignition Coils (with pics)
Use what works for you. We all have different experiences and different driving needs, styles and performance setups. I have run about every type and design of high performance ignition in my Racing Beat built race RX-7's, gen one and gen 2.. My FD was run fairly stock.
My 40th Anniversary Edition RX8 is modified for performance ,but not radically like my boosted RX-7s. It is my seventh rotary Mazda since 1973.
Cheers and best to you all.

105k and going
Popping in to say I’m finally replacing my oem coils on my 2004 at 105k miles. Which I got oddly proud of as I read the mileages in this thread. 🙃
I think they are still good, had a misfire after a little road-trip and found some terrible plugs.
Replacing the coils as well just to be safe because they got no business working this long, apparently.. haha

The whole time I've owned this car I've heard about how unreliable and troubled it is, but rarely an issue I can't handle simply and cheaply..
for example, Been waiting to replace the shitty old-oem starter but it just keeps working.

I just assumed I got one of the good ones.. Knock on wood.
