It looks more like a turbo V-8 3rd gen RX-7 dyno to me. Just a guess.

I'll get in touch with Chris tomorrow, find out what's up with him working on an adaptation for the 8 of the Wolf ... he's been really busy lately.

So, can someone enlighten the ignorant? How is this different from what E-manage can do? I'm interested in options, but if this is just going to be another E-manage type, then I sure hope it is cheaper and better because E-manage has a very large supporting community behind it. It would take more features, better usability, scalability, and cheaper price to beat it.

From my understanding of what has been stated earlier in this thread, instead of "crudely" making decisions based on voltages, it actually reads signals from the ECU, then allows/blocks/modifies the actual signal that goes through, so that it allows for greater and more consistent control.

Of course, I am ignorant too so this is pretty much like the blind leading the blind here.

I stated it earlier but I'll restate for those who missed it.

The wolf ECU is a piggy back computer that does not modify signals like the E-manage. It intercepts them. It reads the outputs from the sensors on the car and then it talks to the Mazda ECU to tell it what to do to get the most performance.

Normally the diagram would look like this:

Engine / Sensors <---> ECU

Wolf's looks like this:

Engine / Sensors <---> Wolf <---> ECU

So the Wolf ECU acts as if it were the engine and sensors and thereby supplies the ECU with false data. The ECU talks back through the wolf and the wolf then decides what signals to send the engine.

Ok. Thanks.

But from what I understand, E-manage also works this way:

Engine / Sensors <--> E-manage <--> ECU

It intercepts signals and subtracts or adds values to it and sends it to the ECU. If Wolf ECU has some AI or logic built-in that dynamically adjusts for better performance as well as reliance on maps, then that is a sure winner! E-manage only relies on map tuning. Bad map = bad performance for it.

I was going to buy an RX-8 Kari but she decided she wants a house first, my friend thats an owner of a large dealership took a 2004 GT with nav winning blue in on trade with 7,000 miles for 19,500 and was going to sell it to me for the same but I want to get a house first.

Besides, why buy a car when I can drive a different one every day for free and not have to worry about repairs or maintenance :D

We need to have another X-Prize, only this time for a private company to build a ship and go to Mars on private funds. I think they'd get done before we get a really ideal (non-piggyback) tuning solution for the RX-8.

Yah, lean on this guy for awhile, OK.

Chris, I don't know you, but be prepaired. If you don't report in every week they will track you down.
