I have spoken to him on several occasions, he is very friendly, knowledgable and always willing to talk about the 8 or his products via phone. I think he got out of the day to day posting in order to simply focus on running his business.

Probably pulled the sponsorship needed to keep his own vendor forum.
1) There wasn't a helluva lot of traffic in there.
2) Might have gotten fed-up with people saying the CZ didn't work, when they didn't understand the mixed results you can expect with the standard tune.
Anyone see what happened to SFR? Tim said he wouldn't post anymore when folks were flaming them nonstop. Can't say I blamed him. I followed that thread for the last few weeks. SFR definately got the shaft. Folks on this forum seem to hound relentlessly.

^ I think there's two things working in there:
#1 The products they promised to produce power and later proven to disappoint the buyers. For the most part, it's the car and not the producers. There's very little juice or just hard to extract extra juice off our cars.
#2 People do flame them either out of frustration (see #1) or strict symantics that some members here tend to turn into arguments. An exaggerated example would be the use of "then" and "than" in your sentences could define how stupid or how smart you are to the flamers.

in a world where we're constantly blasted with "+20hp mystery chips" i dont bame anyone for being skeptical of anyones product. canzoomer attempted to sell the unit as a PNP package, but once it became clear it took toying with to get it to work right, that plan was dropped in favor of just a general airflow corrector. still though it didnt get through to some customers that it was NOT a PnP solution, so they flamed his products on here.
my guess is cz simply wasn't selling enough of them to warrant paying the vendor fees on here. there was a time when if you wanted any power you went cz..but now there's a few more options. at least they kept his forum around...lots of useful information in there

recently...as in the past day or two. his forum is now the eManage discussion subforum in this forum. strange too, as interest seemed to be actually increasing in the canzoomer. oh well, it was always just a hobby for him, and I know it became quite a burden on him and his company

There are still some people out there running the Canzoomer but in truth the advantage it gives you isn't what it was in the beginning. With the original flashes that came in early cars, the Canzoomer was giving very nice power gains over stock. Subsequent factory flashes have slowly gained back their disadvantage and now we are pretty much on a level playing field. The Canzoomer can still do certain things and be tuned but the big power gains that were first seen with it aren't really there anymore. It was a very good product to have and something that I would consider the pioneer in aftermarket RX-8 ecu options. It's days are getting numbered though with the other ecu advancements out there that will control more and more in a much easier format. Maurice is a smart guy and he has done much for the community. He still sells some nice aftermarket products for the car so don't think he's gone. He's not. Remember that at one point Peter Farrell had the PMS purple box piggyback ecu upgrade for the 3rd gen RX-7. Everyone used it then suddenly something came out that was faster and easier to use. That was the Power FC. Peter Farrell is still around but you don't see his ecu's being used by many anymore. Someone has to be the pioneer for certain mods and for this car it was Canzoomer.

The only actual change i've noticed was between L and M and that was very very minimal. I believe the differences claimed on this forum are somewhat skewed by the short term effects of the fuel trims being reset and not what will happen long term.
