that is a good point jedi, but if i make the trip during the day then i cant blast the heater itll be a miserable yet awesome drive.........but judgin by the fact that the heat blows out slightly even when its turned to off.........but yea once i get that fixed im sensin there might be a lawsuit with myself n my insurance company becuz there tryin to tell me my a/c not workin isnt accident related, when prior to the accident it blew 40 degrees out the vent.........

Hey if you live around the Los Angeles County area, I have a good buddy of mine who works at the LA County Sheriff's Department and I told him about this thread. He said that he definitely is "interested" to see how fast an RX-8 could go. He also said that most of his co-workers would also like to see if you guys can really make an RX-8 that fast. They said you're all full of crap. So he said to just post when and which freeway or street you guys want to prove them wrong and they'll be there to see if an RX-8 can really run at those speeds.

once, i was racing a bike, and i totally beat it.
it doesnt matter that it was a grandma on a bicycle in a neighborhood with 25mph speed limit. i was right up there, exactly at 25mph. i blew by her so fast. redlining all the way. as i passed, her mouth dropped open, she couldnt believe someone could be flying by her so quickly at 25mph.
best race ever.
(always obey the speed limit, never street race, and damn germans. gettin all their fun.)

In my 06 I have seen 149 in fifth gear with three people in the car. I weigh 237 and the other two weigh 189 a piece. My roomates S2000 went 158 down the same road. However, my 05 R1 went 189 on the same road. But when you do the speed correction I was only going 173 and yes I wear full gear but honestly it doesnt' matter at that speed.

Went to 140 then backed down, didn't top out but I'm sure it would have gone only a few more mph faster.
Did this on some barren interstate highway passing out of virginia and into north calorina (live in NY). Twas about 4 am and every inn in every exit i stopped at for the entire state of virginia along the route i was driving was full due to some kinda national boyscout convention or some garbage. I was understandably agitated and was speeding from exit to exit looking for a room.
P.S. I never found a room and slept in the car.
