What is the best intake for the 8?

hey guys im ready to get my next mod and i was wondering what intake you guys would recommend. I have been leaning toward the aem cai. i have seen on sites that it gives some drastic horsepower numbers like 15 hp. (lol is this true?) Is this a great intake and is this exactly the same as the mazdaspeed one? Should i choose something else? What would you guys recommend. What offers the horsepower, the best sound, and decent fuel economy? I d really apprecitate the help. thanks.

The Racing Beat REVi and the Mazdaspeed CAI or AEM CAI (essentially the same thing) are my picks. It is mostly a sound and design preference thing, as intakes on this car give only a few (<5) HP. You could also try modifying the stock intake as mentioned here if you are solely looking for the extra hp and not the looks or noise.

Thats interesting the Aem Cai. Most I ever heard was the KNN intake claiming 10 hp. I havent seen alot of ppl on the forum with the Cai's either alot seem stick to short rams from what I see. I have been looking to up grade my stock intake, but i cant decide wether to go Cai or Sri. It rains alot in fl. n i know some ppl who have blown stuff.

+1 for custom fab!!

Renesis se3p hooked me up with an awesome short ram - Great sound and an overall good investment IMHO- way better than blowin' $400 for minimal hp gain and a some noise
