The reason it has not been done the way you suggest is that the maf is very sensitive to fluctuations and getting the smoothest possible air flow before the maf is a higher priority - for tuning .
But like everyone has said - it is possible .

I was just curious why it hasn't been done this way? Has to be a reason. Seems like more effort to put in the recirculation and re position the MAFS. Would save on cost (slightly) to stop piping at the stock location of the MAFS.
My understanding is that our MAF does not read properly when in the pressure side of the piping. I believe this is because most tuning solutions dont/cant make use of a Map sensor at all, so it has no way of reading pressure only airflow.

I just said that wouldn't work and gave reason for it...

Under your scenario, under partial throttle movements the air would be moving back and forth creating incorrect MAF readings and causing incorrect fueling as a result. Mostly it will go rich and cause bucking.

Every car i have ever built a turbo kit for used a Blow through setup with the BOV just before the MAF and ive never had any issues with tuning using something as simple as a SAFC.... When i turbo my 8 i will most likely do a blow through setup because for other cars at least i have found they allow for a much more accurate tune...
