hmmm....thats kind of weird. Umnitza tried to prove to me about the reputability of Simota by showing brochures of why Simota is so great. The brochures were all of Simota's achievement in Urethane Filters, which supposedly are stronger and more heat resistant.

apparently they're all on backorder ...

did you ever consider the idea of asking Umnitza how the filter should be cleaned?

I'm not really bitter now since I don't really want one now. But take it with a grain of salt with the dyno numbers.
Wow, nice of you to say something to me.
You wouldn't trust me?

It took Simota 4 months to get us the few intakes they could, did you consider perhaps, just perhaps, that if we saw some issues, we didn't want to give you an intake with those issues?

Nah, let's just bad mouth a company for no reason.

With that attitude, I was planning STILL to give you an intake for being the original test car, but not anymore.

I treat people how I want to be treated, not better and not worse. Being treated like this on an open forum, I'm no longer interested.

Someone else can get a free intake (that is local) and is willing to do a dyno.

I'm disappointed that rather than contacting us for an update, you chose to comment in this way.

We did a dyno already, but the conditions were not recorded. I don't like sending out intakes to people that claim they'll do a dyno and never do. Sorry, it's been done before and people just get free discounts with no work on their end.

This is why if we want to do another dyno, it will be with someone local. Those interested, feel free to contact us. We have them in stock, unfortunately, except for sstricker, no one else got the updated MAF housing (we are waiting for his results before proceeding, even though Simota has done their homework).

At this time, we have quite a few dead weight intakes in stock- if this issue is resolved, we'll get those MAF housings updated and everyone will get their intake shipped immediately. We have a lot of them to ship and we want them to work WELL, not haphazardly.

ok before i rant i want to say this " In the time i've dealt with Umnitza, everything has been good. they have answered all my questions, and have been great since the begining, i am not trying to rag on them but i do have something to say on this issue"

*steps on soapbox*

ok ZOOM ZOOM had made that video before i even bought my intake. now if you were not giving him the intake due to problems you were aware of, than why would you sell a product that had problems?

Or why would you not just give him the intake for basically giving you free exposure/publicity. Not only did he let you use his car but he also posted positive comments for you about sound and what not. AND to be completely honest it was the video that sold me on it

and you said about him...

"Jason, the person in the video, was very happy to pay for one.
In fact, he was so nice, we intend on giving him the intake.

You know, sometimes, it just pays to be nice, and not a jerk.

Everyone wants a hand out, it's refreshing when someone doesn't, and it's funny how he'll wind up getting one.

A lesson learned."
now i'm sure what he said may have sturck you wrong but you can see how he was a lil frustrated so i say hook him up

he helped you, maybe you can help him

*steps off soapbox*

i know its none of my buisness but thats just how i feel like i said before i haven' thad problems with you and i hope to continue dealing with you. if this post has upset you i apologize

to add..... umnitza has been nothing but professional with me as well... i see no problems with the way they run there business.

also... to umnitza... the only reason i bought this intake, in the first place, was because of zoom zoom's video! i had never heard of either company before this (umnitza/simota). i loved the way it sounded/looked, so i ordered without hesitation. i too believe that since he was a test-bed that he should recieve an intake as well...

you know that i'm not asking for a freebee for the new housing! i paid my money and won't look back... and i will also post an honest feedback.

let's just wait until monday, when i get the "update", and see what we think!

I really have no problem with Umnitza either. They have answered all my emails fairly and thoughtfully. I wasn't trying to bash on the company or anything, but wanted to know the opinions of people who actually had the intake.

I also ordered the intake because of zoom zoom's video. The intake sound was music to my ears and like a Siren luring me to purchase it, so I did. The price was amazing also.

I really can't wait til I get the intake and install it. I hope its soon Umnitza.

I did say and will stand by those comments. He was pleasant, forgiving, and thoughtful when I met him. He didn't jump on the bandwagon to bash, he made an effort.

Now, let's take a step back - he took time out of his day to get something for free which he did or did not expect - we made the video, we did the installation, we did the promotion, we did all the necessary steps to make sure Simota was aware of the issues.

That being said, there is absolutely no reason to make snap comments like those, and thus, my opinion today is different than it was back then. Nothing more nothing less.

It's clear you guys want good products and are polite, intelligent, and thoughtful given your current responses.

As said, treat those how you want to be treated in kind.

I think both you guys should agree t go back and delete all this stuff (edit ---> delete message ---> delete this message), then talk privately and resolve your differences properly

I haven't had any problems with Umnitza either. And they give very quick responses to my emails all the time.

btw,

I still have the older, buggy simota intake here (I already removed it from my 8). Is there a way I can get a refund of my money for it? I'm pretty sure sstricker said that Umnitza is willing to give a complete refund. Thank you.

We would be happy to figure out if yours fell into the same time frame as Sstricker's.

Instead of doing the full refund, we'll likely provide free <-- ***gasp*** replacements for the MAF housing. Once Simota provides those to us.

you really need to take a deep breath, there's no need for emphasizing that, most people would think that's the least that should be done, I realize not all companies would go that far, but it could easily speak for itself without making you look bad in the process, you really need to be addressing most of this stuff privately ... just a friendly suggestion mind you

thanks for all those who posted in my defense. There is no need, since I won't be needing the intake with the direction i'm heading. That is all.

it feels kinda good being the only one in the country to have this damn thing first.... i should get a plaque or something!
